Toshiba's SD-3980 gives you a crisp, clear picture with DVDs, and great sound from your CDs. You can enjoy your own MP3 mix discs too. The player reads digital picture CDs, so you can view your favorite photos on your TV.
ColorStream Pro Component Video Outputs - These outputs allow the video signal to be sent from the DVD player to a component video equipped interlaced or progressive scan TV. When this connection is utilized with today's HD-compatible sets, typical NTSC artifacts-like video noise, dot crawl, and flicker-are virtually eliminated, resulting in a low-noise, highly detailed picture with unequaled color purity.
Digital Cinema Progressive (3/2 Pulldown) - Delivers the smoothest, most film-like images to any progressive scan television, such as an HD-compatible one, and ensures maximum resolution.
JPEG Viewer - Enables the display of digital photographs captured in the JPEG format. Simply load the CD with your favorite photos and create custom slide shows with a few simple clicks of the player's remote control.
WMA & MP3 Playback - Recordable Compact Discs (CD-R & CD-RW) with music stored in either the Windows Media Audio or MP3 file formats can be enjoyed.
Coaxial Dolby Digital and DTS Surround Sound Output - Use the single RCA-type jack to send signature multi-channel audio to an audio/video receiver with a compatible input.
Virtual Surround Sound - Provides a simulated surround sound effect when using two stereo speakers. Convenient when playing DVD films with home theaters not equipped with multi-channel playback compatibility.
Digital Picture Zoom - This interactive DVD feature allows you to select an area of the picture you want to zoom in on and magnify it. Enhanced digital processing during moving video or freeze-frame playback produces superior color fidelity and resolution, even when you're zoomed in. Also can be used to expand letterbox-only films to increase the viewable area on-screen
Screen Saver - The player can be set to automatically go into a screen saver mode after several minutes of inactivity. While in this mode, the Toshiba DVD logo appears and "ping-pongs" across the screen. Many movies will display the main movie menu indefinitely after the movie has ended. If left onscreen for a prolonged period, burn-in on the TV screen may result without this feature.
