I think this mixer is much more superior. The shape of the bowl enables small batches can be made with no difficulty. Looks really good too .. I went with the black/chrome finish to match my other counter top appliances. I like to make whole grain organic breads/pies from vegetables I grow in my garden. After burning up my previous hand mixer making zuchini bread I decided it was time to make the investment in a good quality stand mixer. The 7 quart mixing bowl is the perfect size to make large batches for multiple loafs/pies. Also the clear plastic mixing bowl guard/cover is genius! Perfect to keep your incredients from flying out of the mixing bowl should you turn the speed up too high. The step up speed feature tends to prevent this however. The timer is nice too however it was not the main feature that attracted me to make the purchase. Ultimately the powerful motor was the main thing that attracted me to make the purchase. If you have ever made zuchini bread, its thick but not thick enough to use the dough hook. This mixer does a great job incorporating ingredients evenly and with little to no mess. A lot of reviews I read mention there are lots of crevises making it hard to clean. Honestly, with the clear plastic mixing bowl guard I have yet to have this mixer produce any messes (wet or dry). I have not purchased any attachments however so perhaps the mess made by the accessories is a different story. All said however, I am very satisfied with my purchase. I would say my Cuisinart mixer is the most attractive counter top appliance in my kitchen. A lot of reviews say the Kitchen Aid mixer is the queen "eye candy" stand mixer, but the Cuisinart is the King! Definitely keep it on the counter top when storing if you have the counter top space!
