Dinner Hacks You’ll Regret Not Knowing this Thanksgiving

November 21, 2018 by BuyDig Team Leave a Comment

Thanksgiving dinner is one of those events that, in theory, sounds like so much fun to be in charge of. Well, the big day is almost here. Just in case you’re feeling a little bit stressed, we’ve gathered these Thanksgiving dinner hacks to help you get the turkey and stuffing to the table without any problems. We’ll even go a step further and show you hacks using appliances that are 10% off right now!

Slow Cookers Save the Day
Here’s an easy way to keep your side dishes such as your mashed potatoes, casseroles and dressings warm while the rest of Thanksgiving dinner cooks. Simply place these items on the lowest slow cooker setting in a Ninja Cooking System from Buydig.com. Use this special coupon code and save 10% just in time for your big dinner!

Bake Your Mashed Potatoes
Mashed potatoes a little lumpy? If you undercook your mashed potatoes, throw them in a dish, cover with shredded cheese or a topping of your choice. Place them in the Cuisinart Convection Toaster Oven, available for 10% off right now, and bake for a few minutes to turn it into a quick casserole side dish.

Boil Your Potatoes
This potato peeling hack will change your life forever! Boil potatoes in their skin to make them easier to peel. Using a sharp knife, cut the skin around the middle of the potato. Boil your potatoes for a few minutes, drain water and pour cool water into the pot. Gently rub the skin off your potatoes with ease.

Keep the Turkey Moist While Roasting

Shape some foil into a ring. Set your bird on top of the foil and add more aluminum as needed so that your turkey will stay elevated while cooking. The foil ring will help heat flow around your turkey for even roasting.

Homemade Splash Guard
Use a paper plate as a hand-mixer splash guard. Just poke two holes to match up with your beaters. Slide the plate onto the tops of the beaters before you attach them to your KitchenAid Hand Mixer from Buyidig.com that you can save 10% on with this code. This makeshift splashguard will help keep your goodies inside the bowl and off of your walls and counter!

Microwave Your Garlic
Microwave garlic for 15 seconds to easily remove skin. After 15 seconds, be very careful peeling the skin. It’s hot! The heat from the microwave causes the garlic to release steam, which helps break down the bond between the clove and the skin. You can stick an entire bulb in the microwave if you need more garlic. Cut both ends of the bulb off, and squeeze one side until the cloves slip out of the peel.

Stuffin’ Muffins
Cook stuffing in muffin tins for easy serving and delicious, crispy edges. Spray nine regular-size muffin cups with cooking spray before filling with stuffing. Make sure to press your stuffing mixture into each cup with a spoon so your stuffing muffins don’t fall apart. Bake about 20 minutes or until stuffing is firm and tops are golden brown.

Lighter Than Air Whipped Cream
Get fluffier whipped cream by chilling the metal beater and bowl of your Kitchenaid stand mixer beforehand.
