Compliment the colors
Typically, photographers request that their subject wear outfits that will contrast with the background. When photographing autumn portraits, try having your subject wear something that will actually blend in with the surroundings instead. An orange, red or yellow toned sweater or jacket will work well for blending into a forest of autumn trees, or a pile of fallen leaves. Add scarves and hats to make the chill in the air come alive in your images.
The Right Angle
The purpose of taking portraits during autumn months certainly isn’t just about the subject, it’s about the surroundings as well.
