The best labor day weekends are filled with good friends, good activities, and good food. From the party planning and ambiance to BBQ cookouts and lawn games, creating the perfect labor day weekend get together for friends and family will take a little bit of effort. Although it may take some work, you get out of life as much as you invest in it. Even with the time it will take to prepare something like this, there are very helpful tips that will bring your labor day party ideas to life. If you began your summer with a Memorial Day party, then you already have a head start where to begin.

Décor

The party decor is very important to overall vibe and party theme. Prepping a stage is the first thing that will need to be tackled. Since it’s very possible that this is the last summer party of the season, feel free to incorporate your favorite summertime activities. This also will help you figure out what kind of themed party you want to have. For instance, if you and your kids love water, a pool party is a perfect way to close out summer. For the younger adults who love to party, eat, drink, and play games, you will probably want to set up outdoor games like corn hole, bocce ball, or croquet in addition to your backyard BBQ.

Your outdoor party’s theme can include DIY decoration projects for kids and community, but is not super necessary if your backyard party will be strictly for adults. A little can go a long way when decorating. Your best efforts should be put into the presentation of food, beverages, and entertainment. For a classy décor, consider using a tablecloth and real serving trays. By adding an umbrella for shade over the table or some chairs, you’re providing a cool place for people to eat, drink and be social if they want to stay out of the sun.

For parties where you may want to watch something like a sporting event or movie night, add some of your favorite teams colors and logos or a theme that portrays the event. Some movie buffs love to get together for their favorite marathons and movie culture trivia games and is also a wonderful way to cap off an amazing labor day party.

Sometimes owning extra luxuries like a projector that lets you play sports and movies wherever you are becomes clutch, especially when hosting guests in odd places for watching TV. The Philips PPX340/INT PicoPix Micro 2 Portable Projector w/ 120″ Projector Screen is perfect and won’t break the bank either. This is a great projector to setup outdoors, in a room where you normally don’t have a television, or even while doing activities like camping. The Phillips PicoPix Micro 2 comes with a projector that can play up to 5 hours on battery, full connectivity via HDMI, USB, and USB-C ports, and a 120” projection screen. There is also a built in tripod so the setup is simple and it basically comes with everything you will need to entertain guests at your party.

Music

There is no doubt that music is a dominating factor in the overall ambiance and vibe of places and events. It sets the mood. Whatever your favorite tunes are, your party playlist should include uplifting songs that have a good beat. The music should reflect the relaxing days of summer that promotes happiness and fun.

Not everyone has a built in surround sound system in their backyards and with todays technology, you don’t have to drag out tons of gear from your family room’s entertainment area.

Sony’s X-Series Portable Bluetooth Wireless Party & Karaoke Speaker is the perfect go to Bluetooth speaker for all of your listening desires. It has phenomenal quality audio with omnidirectional sound plus an integrated tweeter. For very large backyards, you can wirelessly connect multiple X-Series speakers for an even bigger party sound. Plus, the karaoke features 2 microphone inputs that can also be used to plug in a guitar. For all the singers and music lovers out there, this can be so much fun for a party. The Sony X-Series Speaker is also IPX4 splash resistant which means it can be near water, and it can play up to 25 hours from one charge and features quick charging.

Food

What kind of party would it be without delicious foods and drinks to enjoy while socializing or entertaining guests?

When it comes to serving food to guests, it’s important to know that everyone has different tastes. Often times, you can collaborate with your friends/guests to create a potluck of foods that everyone contributes to. This should in no way take away from your BBQing aspirations, but could relieve you of some of the stress of making a zillion different dishes. Plus, people usually will bring what they like themselves so that makes it a bit easier too.

A good BBQ grill will take care of all your classics like hamburgers, hot dogs, and grilled veggies. Letting your guests create their own skewers & kabobs “buffet style” to be cooked on the grill is a fun way to include your guests in the cooking process and allows them to create their kabobs as they prefer. Appetizers and side dishes can be made in advance and even be something that you can ask guests to bring. You may know who in the community makes the best specific side dishes and appetizers. Don’t be shy from asking as they would be elated to show off their famous pasta salad or whatever their dish is. Desserts can be easy and fun. You can bake cookies or cake if you want to but most people and even children will be happy with some fresh fruit like watermelon and ice cream.

The Broil King Regal Pellet 500 Grill is the perfect grill to add to your backyard. With 865 square inches of cooking space, you can cook for 2 or a party of people with ease. This is a 22 lb. hopper which means it has wheels and can easily be moved to a safe cooking area when in use, and out of the way when it is not. The Broil King Regal Pellat 500 grill is a famous one because of its highly durable design and construction, but mainly because it cooks amazing BBQ and smoke infused foods. This grill also has management features which make it easy to clean, operate, and cook food perfectly.

Summer drinks are generally simple as most people want beer, soda, andwater. To add a bit of flavor to the mix, consider making a few pitchers of sangria and fruity mocktails which is always fun and tasty. Just be sure to have enough ice as that can become a big party pooper if you run out. A good ice maker can go a long way whether you’re indoors or out. These machines are simple and quick. The Deco Chef Countertop Portable Ice Maker for Home or Office can make up to 40lbs of ice per day and can yield about 2.4lbs of ice in just 15-20 minutes.
