Future Technology that May be Closer than You Think

March 8, 2017 by BuyDig Team 1 Comment

We have seen great leaps in technology in just the past five years.  Smartphones, touch tablets and desktops, cloud computing, these are all innovations that have revolutionized the way we live, work and play. However, we are just getting started.  Technology is always changing, adapting and progressing. When things that seemed impossible one year can become possible only within a few short years. Here are some futuristic technologies that are in the works and you will most likely be using in the near future.

Octopus
Teach your child good habits, the concept of time and how to manage their own time with this wearable device.  The Octopus teaches your little one time management such as reminding them to brush their teeth or feed the dog.  Then, connect it to your smartphone from Buydig.com and your child will alert you when they have completed their tasks.

Self-Driving Super Fast Electric Car
A new self-driving electric car by Faraday that can accelerate from zero to 60mph in 2.39 seconds. This is quicker than the Tesla Model S’s 2.5 seconds, will be made available in 2018. You will be able to connect to the FF91 via a virtual “FFID” account, which will allow you to send data, such as route plans, from personal devices directly to the car. The car will be chargeable from a variety of electrical standards and, when driven at 55mph, its battery will provide a range of around 482 miles. Those looking to pre-order this car of the future will need to put down a refundable deposit of $5,000 through Faraday’s website.

The Family Companion Robot
This newest robot will teach you that even robots can have feelings. Even more importantly that they can be cute. Buddy will move around your home checking for intruders. He can manage your smart home products and remind you of important events. He also plays music and can even call the fire brigade if it senses a fire.

Wallpaper TV
The LG Signature 77W7 OLED, the world’s first ultra-thin Picture-On-Wall OLED TV. It is more popularly known as the “Wallpaper TV”. It measures just 2.57-millimetres thick and weighs only 7.7kg. The 65-inch television, and soon to be available in 77-inch, is mounted directly onto the wall with magnetic brackets. The razor-thin appearance is made possible from OLED technology. This doesn’t require the same backlighting as LCD sets and offers better pictures with each pixel producing light individually. All of the input ports from the television have been removed. Instead built into a companion 4.2 channel LG Dolby Atmos soundbar, which will be included with every W-series set.

This is just some of the latest and greatest in technology that may appear in your home sooner than you think. Keep checking back with Buydig.com for the arrival of new technology everyday!
