A7SIII vs a Regular Camcorder vs a Regular SLR

July 29, 2020 by BuyDig Team Leave a Comment

The a7s series from Sony was way ahead of the competition when the first camera was released. With this new release being a member of the Sony “S” series, it’s already expected to be equipped with the best low-light sensor ever made. The a7s III will also follow suite as a video focused camera. This is where the fun and speculations about the new release really get exciting! What features do you think this camera will have? Do you think Sony has a few surprises up their sleeve? Here are some of the rumors and speculations flying around about this mirrorless vs DSLR and its possible new video camera features.

Video Camera Capabilities
Many in the photography world think that it’s still too soon for 8K video capabilities on a video camera. Though it would be possible and impressive, rumors speculate that even 6K is unlikely at this point. So, if the a7s 3 retains the “S” series 4K video ability on this video camera, how will this new release attract serious videographers? Word on the street is the rest of the specs on the a7s3 are impressive enough to satisfy any photographer looking to use the a7s3 vs a regular camcorder. Rumors suggest that the Sony a7s III will be able to capture 10-bit 4:2:2 4K/120p video, and 4K/120p RAW video over HDMI, as well as 1080p video at 240p. This camera is also equipped to work with UHS-II SD card slots and no record time limits. If the video autofocus on the a7s3 is as good as or better than the a7r IV, it will be extremely popular for videographers vs a regular camcorder.

A7sIII vs Regular SLR
Are you trying to decide if this new mirrorless camera release from Sony is the camera you are looking for? Can’t decide between mirrorless vs DSLR? Let’s talk about the difference between mirrorless and DSLR cameras from Buydig.com to help guide you through this decision process before the release date. The main difference between mirrorless and DSLR cameras is of course the fact that DSLRs are bulkier and heavier due to the mirror. Mirrorless cameras, like the new a7s3, are smaller, lighter and can fit in a small purse or your pocket. There is no longer the distinct difference between mirrorless and DSLR when it comes to autofocus speed as there once was in the past. The new mirrorless cameras like the a7s 3 have phase-detection autofocus points in their image sensors to counteract that difference between mirrorless and DSLR.  When comparing the difference between mirrorless and DSLR image stabilization, mirrorless cameras, like the soon-to-be released a7s3, can be declared the winner! DSLRs only counteract camera shake along two axes. The Sony “S’ series features the 5-axis image stabilization. Even with all of the differences between mirrorless and DSLR cameras, there are more and more similarities as technology changes. DSLR’s and mirrorless cameras have one huge feature in common: interchangeable lenses. While there are still more lenses available for DSLRs, the selection for mirrorless is catching up. Sony now has about 50 E-mount lenses for its mirrorless models, including the upcoming a7s3!

Now you’ve compared the soon-to-be released a7s III vs a regular camcorder vs a regular SLR. Head on over to Buydig.com to preorder your new a7s III today.
