Autumn has arrived! The leaves are changing from green to vibrant shades of orange, red, and yellow.  Now is the time to plan your fall foliage adventures! Take in all the beauty nature has to offer. Great Smoky Mountains National Park, TN– Considered one of the most beautiful fall foliage parks in the South . Its variety of deciduous trees providing a kaleidoscope of colors from mid September through early November.

Acadia National Park, ME– With the highest mountain on the North Atlantic seaboard, you will be able to climb to the top. You will see the most epic view of the fall foliage. For a more relaxed viewing, travel along the 45 miles of trails by horse-drawn carriage instead.

Adirondacks, NY– If you’re looking for a few more activities to go along with your foliage viewing, make the Adirondacks your fall destination this year.  You’ll find an Oktoberfest and Brewfest in October at Lake Placid. Also, the Flaming Leaves Festival for blues and the Lederhosen 5K.

Berkeley Springs, WV– There’s no better way to cure the Fall chill after foliage viewing than with a dip in the Berkeley Spring’s Roman Baths.  These natural springs are considered to be the country’s first spa, and were often visited by George Washington himself.

Asheville, NC- If you are looking for the best hiking for fall foliage viewing,  make sure Asheville in the Blue Ridge Mountains is on your bucket list. There are 17 farmer’s markets and excellent local restaurants. You’ll have plenty to do to keep you entertained and nourished after a day of hiking.

Salem, MA- If you are looking for a spooky good time while viewing fall foliage, then grab your  camera from Buydig.com and head to this town. It’s filled with the mysteries and history of the Salem Witch trials. Be sure to visit the oldest 17th century wooden mansion in New England, House of the Seven Gables, while you are there.

The Ozarks, Missouri- The Ozark Mountains are the biggest mountain region between the Appalachians and the Rocky Mountains. It covers 47,000 square miles in Missouri and Arkansas.  View the foliage at your leisure or book one of the many foliage tours.

Lost Maples State Natural Area, TX– This state park in Vanderpool, TX, near San Antonio. It is full of vibrate fall colors! View the foliage while hiking along several miles of rugged trails with sheltered canyons and scenic woodlands.

Sedona, AZ- In the western part of the country, autumn usually means shades of yellow like the aspens of Colorado.  However, if you visit Oak Creek Canyon, just North of Sedona, you will get the privilege of seeing the brilliant reds of the maples and oaks.

 Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway, New Mexico- This scenic 83 mile loop features aspens that not only turn yellow, but also dark orange.  It also includes views of purple cinquefoil and cottonwoods in shades from bright red to yellow.

Mono County, CA- One of the best foliage shows on the West Coast is in California’s Eastern Sierra in Mono County.  Some of the top places to visit for the most colorful sightings include Lobdell Lake, Sonora Pass, Green Creek, and Lundy Canyon.

Looking for a more relaxing way to view the fall foliage this year? Without having to leave the comfort of the indoors?  Try hopping aboard one of the many foliage train tours offered around the country.  We’ve put together a list of a few to help you get started

Amtrak’s Autumn Express- Take a ride through parts of New York, New Jersey and Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Fall Colors, Scenic Trains & Martha’s Vineyard- Tour through Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Connecticut.

Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad- Take the Peanuts Great Pumpkin Patch Express in late October.

Napa Valley Wine Train- During harvest season, enjoy the aroma of fermenting grapes. You can view the changing leaves on the grapevines and the breathtaking landscape.

Adirondack Scenic Railroad- See the hidden beauty that is not accessible by road. This is located on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad’s Fall Foliage Train.

If you want to view spectacular views of Mother Nature at her best this fall, visit one of these spectacular spots soon.  Peak season for foliage viewing won’t last much longer.
