Disable background data
\n<\/strong>Many apps run in the background, even when you\u2019re not using them. This makes sense for things like email and social media, where you might want to know the minute you get a new message or comment. But do you really need your games, notes, and music players gobbling up battery resources 24\/7?<\/p>\n

\nDisable app notifications
\n<\/strong>Bugged by annoying app notifications that just keep coming? If you don\u2019t know already, these app notifications also drain your phone\u2019s battery.<\/p>\n

Turn of cellular data usage for some features
\n<\/strong>Turn off cellular data usage for certain apps and features that you won\u2019t be needing to save battery. Go to the Cellular or Data Usage tab under your phone\u2019s Settings. Then toggle off cellular data for specific apps that use a lot of your data.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Leave it while charging it
\n<\/strong>Manufacturers make those short charging cables for a reason. They don\u2019t want you to use your phone<\/a> from Buydig.com while charging. Doing so reduces the life of the battery quite a bit.

\n<\/strong>Your battery is at a low percentage, and there\u2019s not a charger in sight. Don\u2019t panic just yet. If your phone is running on iOS9, go to Settings > Battery >\u00a0Low Power Mode. You can even ask Siri to do this for you. By going into Low Power Mode, non-essential tasks are disabled. This will give you up to four more hours of battery life!<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>We know you don\u2019t want to miss an e-mail or a tweet. But the fetch function, which is always looking for new mail and pings you with inbox updates, is a major battery drainer. Turn the function off when you want to extend the power while you\u2019re out and about.<\/p>\n

Hacks to make your life easier<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ditch your keyboard
\n<\/strong>You don\u2019t have to put up with\u00a0your device\u2019s\u00a0keyboard. There are\u00a0loads of keyboard options. Lots of Android devices like the Sony Xperia Premium Smartphone<\/a> from Buydig.com already use Gboard by default. But if you have an iPhone, or a Samsung Galaxy, or anything else that doesn\u2019t live up to the high quality swipe-type experience that your fingers deserve, it\u2019s time for an upgrade. Remind me later<\/strong>
\nUse the \u201cremind me later\u201d feature to skip calls on your iPhone, without forgetting about them. You can also get iOS to remind you to call back later. As with the auto-replies, the way you do this depends on your version of iOS: in iOS 9 you tap the Remind Me button above the slide. In earlier versions you swiped upwards and\u00a0selected Remind Me Later.<\/p>\n

Recycle bin
\n<\/strong>You can activate a Recycle Bin similar to the one we use on Windows PC or laptop on your Android mobile<\/a>. Simply download an app called\u00a0Dumpster which safeguards files if you accidentally delete them. All the files get stored in the app which you can later delete or recover at your convenience.<\/p>\n
