The GR-SXM240 is a S-VHS-C format camcorder. The VHS-C format gives you the convenience of being able to play back the tape in your standard VHS (Video Home System) VCR with the supplied VHS playpak adapter. With this tape format there is no need to connect cables from the camcorder to the TV or VCR just pop the VHS compact cassette into the VHS playpak adapter and play in the VCR. Features a Pro-cision 5 head system that provides excellent picture quality, also features a 2.5" LCD monitor that is tiltable for high and low angle shoots with 112,000 pixels for great clarity.

- Zoom: Equipped with a 16x optical zoom that lets you close-in on your subject with a pure optical quality, and the 400x digital hyper zoom that allows you go all the way out with incredible close-ups.
- Animation and Time-lapse: Allows you to shoot a frame of video at a time to make drawings and objects move on tape, and the Time-lapse will automatically record at set intervals so you can record rare scenes, like a flower blooming.
- LCD Monitor: This camcorder is equipped with a 2.5" tiltable LCD screen for high angle overhead shooting, low angle shots, or even self portraits.
- 5 Mode Program AE: Program Auto Exposure (AE) will automatically make all of the necessary settings of the shutter speed, aperture, and focusing for a variety of outdoor and indoor situations. This greatly simplifies the shooting process. Up to 5 Program AE Modes (Twilight, Sports/Fog, ND Effect, Hi Speed Shutter 1/2000).
- Special Effects: A combination of built-in Digital Special Effects and Wipes/Fades will give your videos a polished professional look.
