The phrase we hear most often when customers describe our ACE590 trimless thin bezel in-ceiling speaker is, "what a bargain!" This trimless speaker pair really is a bargain when you consider the components that go into it. The ACE590 moves into the larger 6.5" woofer for excellent bass for home theater systems and a 3/4" pivoting silk dome tweeter for crisp highs. Contour switches also allow you to tailor the bass and rebel to your preference. The ACE590 and our entire ACE (Architectural Ceiling Element) series of in-ceiling speakers combine elegant, modern style with outstanding audio performance. The invisible trimless grill design gives the ACE speakers a clean and sleek appearance that seamlessly integrates into any design space. Adds less visual impact on your architectural audio installation.

How does this speaker mount to the ceiling?
Many of our customers install our ceiling speakers on their own and mounting is made easy by the design. All our in-ceiling speakers feature a dog leg (L-shaped) mounting system that is part of the frame. Before you install the speakers, remove the grille and you'll see several the mounting screws near the front frame. These screws need to be loosened to activate the dog leg clamps. Use a screwdriver to loosen (turn to the left) these screws and the clamp will come loose. When the speaker is in position in the ceiling, tighten (turn to the right) the screw and the speaker will be secured to the ceiling.

Cable Considerations
Wiring depends on your local building codes; however, we recommend purchasing our in-wall speaker cable. This CL3/FT4-rated is UL (fire) rated for all residential and most commercial in-wall and in-ceiling applications. (The exception is you cannot run this cable in heating or cooling ducts in commercial applications.) It also includes a heavy-duty outer jacket approved for in-wall/in-ceiling installation, and the high quality plastic jacket is very flexible so it's easy to run the wires through the twists and turns of wall cavities.

What Gauge Wire Should I Use
For runs up to 100 feet for background music, 16-gauge will be fine. If the run is approaching or exceeding 100 feet, use 14-gauge wire.

How Many Speakers Will I Need to Fill a Specific Space?
That depends on a couple of things. The size of your room will determine the amount and type of speakers you choose but a lot of folks forget to consider the amount of background noise the room is exposed to. If your room is near the kitchen, the speakers have to compete against conversations, churning dishwashers, and beeping microwaves. You may need to add more speakers or speakers with higher power ratings to output high volume levels without distortion. If you have a large room or if your room leads into other large areas, there's more air to move. Cubic feet and square feet are different. The size of the room is measured in cubic feet; therefore, a room that's 20 feet by 15 feet with a 10-foot tall ceiling would have 3,000 cubic feet, which is actually 300 square feet. Smaller rooms, say less than 2,000 cubic feet, don't need as much amplifier power and speaker efficiency ratings.
