The 13B4U also features Enhanced Definition TV (EDTV) capability, which means it can display a beautiful, film like progressive-scan picture when you connect a progressive-scan DVD player! Sharp's Advanced Super View (ASV) panel design is optimized for TV (not computer) signals. AQUOS TVs are among the brightest LCD models available - You can place them near windows or other light sources and still enjoy ultra-crisp contrast and dynamic colors. The built-in stand creates a graceful look on a desktop, table, or dresser, and also can be removed if you'd prefer wall-mounting (brackets not included, see "Recommended Accessories").
Because LCD TVs don't use a scanning electron gun like you find in conventional tube-type TVs, LCD models offer greater versatility in placement and use. First, they aren't susceptible to distortion from a nearby magnet (like a speaker), which means you don't have to worry about unshielded speakers getting too close to the TV and damaging the picture tube (there is no "tube"). Also, because of the way an LCD panel forms an image, you never have to worry about image burn-in - great news for video game fans.
