The Digital Light Processing technology at the center of Toshiba DLP TV is a proprietary Digital Light Engine named TALEN (Toshiba Advanced Light Engine) designed and manufactured by Toshiba. This new system utilizes Texas Instruments' brand new step-up HD2+ chip to provide high resolution DLP projection with enhanced brightness and contrast. At less than 16 inches deep, these sets have a sleek, flat panel-like appearance and occupy considerably less space than traditional rear projection TV sets.
The new line of DLP TVs also employs an exciting new TheaterFine DFP Screen technology with a Digital Fine Pitch and Anti-Glare Coating that results in incredible detail and noticeably deeper blacks, the best available in a DLP Projection TV. There is even the new Radiance DC Lamp technology with high brightness and lower power modes, which extend the set's lifespan.
In addition, the full line of Toshiba DLP TVs feature many of the key technologies that the company has been known for, including: CableClear DNR+ signal noise reduction, SRS WOW sound processing, HD Window Picture-out-Picture, and now an HDMI digital interface.
