Sharp's LC-45GX6U is a breathtaking 45" HDTV LC-TV that can easily enhance the decor of any family room, living room or den. The LC-45GX6U utilizes Sharp's proprietary Advanced Super View/Black TFT Panel, which provides high brightness (450 cd/m2), 4000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio, and wide viewing angles (170 degrees x 170 degrees). With a fully integrated HDTV tuner and CableCARD compatibility the LC-45GX6U is a complete state-of-the-art HDTV. This means you can "plug and play" with a cable card from your HDTV-capable Cable-TV system provider, with no need for a separate cable set-top box.

Offering an astounding 1080p display, the LC-45GX6U uses Sharp's advanced CV-IC System III processing technology to upconvert 1080i and 720p signals to 1080p, utilizing full HDTV specification and ensuring the most meticulously detailed images possible from digital video sources. The new pinnacle of home entertainment technology, this sleek titanium 45" (LC-45GX6U) includes a separate, matched AVC System to house all terminal connections, eliminating wires and providing more convenient proximity to other components. The separate AVC receiver will house all the cable connections, allowing your flat panel TV to maintain its sleek and clean presence, especially when its mounted on the wall. The AVC System features HDMI, DVI-I and dual HD component video inputs, as well as a PC card slot to view and record digital still JPEG images and MPEG-video.

The LC45GX6U utilizes a High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI), the new interface standard for digital audio and video. HDMI provides an easy, single-cable connection to digitally transmit both audio and video signals for high resolution images and sound, as well as suppressed signal noise. A built-in DVI-I terminal permits virtually noiseless picture transmission via digital-to-digital software and hardware, including DVD players, set-top boxes, digital tuners and PCs.

Digital Cable Ready with CableCARD slot
The LC45GX6U has been termed "plug and play" because it's Digital Cable Ready (DCR). DCR televisions contain a slot for receiving unscrambled analog, digital basic and digital premium cable television programming, including HDTV, without the need for a set-top box. The slot in the AQUOS supports an unidirectional card, known as a CableCARD. The card and programming are available through your cable provider.
