Built-in Speedlight and Nikkor lens compatibility

Compatible Nikkor lenses Lenses with focal length 20mm to 300mm (except AF Nikkor 300mm f/2.8 ED-IF).

Important!* Built-in Speedlight cannot be used with zoom lenses used for macro photography * Do not use a lens hood; it could cause slight vignetting

Because the Speedlight is relatively close to the lens, when a larger lens is used, or when a zoom lens is extended, the top of the lens may obstruct the Speedlight. Built-in Speedlight cannot be used with the following lenses in the conditions indicated:

AF 20-35mm f/2.8D IF: at a focal length shorter than 35mm, or if the subject is within 2.6 ft.; AF 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6D IF: if subject is within 4.6 ft. at a 24mm focal length; AF 28-85mm f/3.5-4.5: if subject is within 4.3 ft. at a 28mm focal length; AF-S 300mm f/2.8D ED-IF: if subject is within 12.1 ft.
