DMC-LC80 Lumix 5 Megapixel Point-and-Shoot Compact Digital Camera
At just 3.44" wide, about the width of a standard business card (but thicker), the DMC-LC80 puts a 5-Effective Megapixel CCD and a 3x optical zoom right in your pocket. You can even use the 3x digital zoom together with the 3x optical zoom to enjoy up to 9x zoom power.
The DMC-LC80 can be powered by two AA alkaline or two rechargeable nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) batteries. Since you can find alkaline batteries almost any anywhere, it's easy to pick up some spares when the power starts running low.
Furthermore, the Mega Burst Consecutive Shooting feature allows you to take successive pictures at an incredibly quick rate, making it ideal for capturing fast-moving objects in high resolution. You can then view your shots on the camera's LCD screen to choose the ones you like and delete the rest.
5 Megapixel Resolution
With a resolution of 5 megapixels, you'll be able to produce high resolution images that can yield photo quality 11x17" prints.
Leica 3x Optical Zoom Lens
The Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens on the DMC-LC80 follows in the Leica tradition of excellence. Although it is small in size, it has a large, bright aperture, meeting Leica's stringent quality standards. A Leica multi-coating process applied to the lens helps to prevent the fogging caused by flare, and ghosts that can result from excessive light. Even enlarged images captured by the DMC-LC80 are crisp and clear-right to the edges.
Venus Engine LSI
Generates the luminance signal of the primary color CCD using all three colors (red, green, blue) for improved diagonal image resolution, compared to conventional CCDs that use only one color (green) to do so, resulting in rich, expressive images.
Mega Burst Imaging
This feature allows you to take consecutive pictures at an incredible quick rate, making it perfect for capturing fast-moving objects in high resolution. You can then view your shots on the camera's LCD screen to choose the shot you want and delete the rest.
MEGA Optical Image Stabilizer
The MEGA O.I.S (Optical Image Stabilizer) feature offsets unintentional hand movement while you're taking pictures to give you clear, sharp images even when taking handheld telephoto shots or shooting at night. This optical technology provides precise compensation for movement with no image quality degradation.
Intelligent Multiple Metering Mode
Provides incredible exposures by helping to improve brightness, color temperature and focus information. It also helps to determine the best exposure setting in difficult shooting situations - such as when there is intrusive backlighting.
Motion Image Recording with Audio
Using the QuickTime Motion JPEG format, the Lumix DMC-LC80 can record moving images with audio at a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The maximum time for each recorded segment varies depending solely on the available SD card capacity.
Print Directly From Your Camera
You can send images directly to print, without the need of a PC, when using PictBridge compatible printers.
