Traffic Message Channel The Traffic Message Channel (TMC) is a specific application of FM Radio Data used for broadcasting real-time traffic and weather information. TMC traffic alerting works on a "silent" FM sideband signal - which means that drivers can still listen to music or news programming on their car radios, without interference from the incoming FM traffic data transmissions.
