Rapid Autofocus
When it comes to fast autofocusing, the DiMAGE Z10 is clearly ahead of the pack with Rapid Autofocus (AF) and Predictive Focus Control. The Z10 features hybrid AF technology combining a passive AF sensor with the video AF system. Rapid AF takes a mere 0.3 second?an essential feature since moving subjects often go quickly out of view when using high zoom magnifications.
Predictive Focus Control
All cameras experience a minute delay from when the shutter-release button is pressed until the image is captured. Especially at long focal lengths, this slight delay can be significant with fast-moving subjects. The DiMAGE Z10 uses Predictive Focus Control to compensate for the delay and adjusts focus right up until the exposure is made.
Get as Close as 0.4 Inch with Macro

Progressive Capture
Progressive Capture drive mode makes sure you never miss the action. When the shutter-release button is pressed and held, Progressive Capture begins saving images in the buffer memory. Simply watch the action on the monitor. When it?s over, release the shutter button and the images in the buffer memory will be saved to the memory card. Six consecutive frames can be captured at approximately 1.5 fps.

Real-Time Histogram Display
Taking pristine images in brilliant daytime conditions has never been easier than with the DiMAGE Z10?s live viewfinder, equipped with a live histogram. Because it?s not always easy to determine the brightness levels within your image in direct sunlight, the histogram supplies the information you need to adjust exposure more accurately.
Switch Finder
The DiMAGE Z10 is equipped with Konica Minolta?s exclusive Switch Finder. This unique system allows the camera?s LCD monitor to be viewed either directly or through the viewfinder. Since a single monitor is used, you need not worry about the color, contrast, and resolution difference between separate rear and viewfinder monitors.
Auto, Preset, or Custom White Balance
White balance controls how the camera interprets the color of the ambient lighting. Auto white balance compensates for changes in lighting automatically. Five preset white-balance settings: daylight, cloudy, tungsten, fluorescent, and flash, can be selected for specific light sources. For critical control over color, the custom setting allows the camera to be calibrated to the lighting conditions at the scene.
Key Customization
For added flexibility and convenience, the flash button can be customized to handle different settings. This means that instead of going through the menus on the LCD monitor, you can use the flash button to change settings like drive mode, white balance, focus mode, color mode, or sensitivity.
E-Mail Copy Function
With the DiMAGE Z10, e-mailing images is simple and quick. The e-mail copy function makes a 640 x 480 JPEG copy of an image on the memory card so that it can be easily transferred over the Internet.
Creative Color Modes
As well as natural color and black & white, the DiMAGE Z10 has color modes for vivid color and sepia. Vivid color increases the saturation to produce vibrant color images. Sepia creates the feel of antique photographs with its warm tone. These creative color modes can be used for still images as well as movies.
VGA Movie Recording
The DiMAGE Z10 can record movies without sound. It records 15-fps VGA-size (640 x 480) movies, which are much easier to view during playback than conventional QVGA-size (320 x 240) movies. It also records 320 x 240 movies at either 30 fps or 15 fps. The XR (Extended Recording) Movie mode lets you record longer movie clips onto the SD memory card until the memory card is full. Night Movie uses high camera sensitivity to record under extreme low-light conditions. And Movie Frame Capture lets you select your favorite scenes from a movie save them as still images.
