Romantic Summer Movie Nights

August 18, 2018 by BuyDig Team Leave a Comment

You don’t need to leave the house for a great date night. Movie night at home is one of the many ways to connect with your loved one. It’s not only easy to plan, but an affordable way to spend a special night with your significant other. Here are a few tips for creating the perfect movie night in the comfort of your own home.

Dress Up!
Shorts and a cute t-shirt are fun, but when you’re spending the majority of your time surviving the heat outdoors in them, it’s not exactly the most exciting outfit in the world. It’s hard to get motivated to dress up when temperatures are hitting 100 degrees. But try to go for something nice, yet still cool and airy, like a feminine sundress and a swipe of red lipstick!

Ditch the Takeout
Instead of the usual Chinese food delivery, make something easy and simple at home instead! One of the easiest, yet impressive, dishes to make is a roasted chicken. All you have to do is season it with salt, pepper, and your favorite herbs. Next, pop it in the oven over some sliced potatoes, and you’ve got an impressive, delicious meal! Finally, pick a great wine to pair it with and you have the perfect romantic dinner.

Homemade Popcorn
A romantic movie night is not complete without popcorn. To make it extra special, top your popcorn with some classic candy like candy-coated chocolates. If you don’t have the time to visit the grocery store before your date, make use of snacks commonly found at your house such as caramel or parmesan cheese. If you lean towards the more traditional toppings, you can still spice it up a little with seasoning salt.

Choose a New Flick
Sure, those silly comedies you’ve seen 100 times have their place in lazy nights on the couch. But for a romantic night in, choose something new that you both haven’t seen. Maybe go for that artsy film you’ve heard so much about but wouldn’t normally order, or a new award-winning documentary. Not only will it be more fun for you to both see something you haven’t seen before on your TV from Buydig.com, but it will spark an interesting conversation afterwards.

Create the Perfect Atmosphere
Spread blankets on the floor and throw a few big pillows on it for a cozy touch. Light up some candles and decorate your space with some fresh flowers to lift the mood. Snap some cute selfies with the Fujifilm Instax Square Instant Print Camera from Buydig.com.

Turn Off All the Lights
You can watch your movie in the dark just like at the movie theater. Plus, with the lights off, you can ignore all of the kids’ toys strewn on the living room floor. You wouldn’t want the mess to ruin your date night.

Date night doesn’t have to mean leaving the house! Sometimes the best dates are cozy nights spent at home enjoying a homemade dinner and a movie.
