Canon got this right
By Great shooter
This is a wonderful upgrade from the 60D. The 6D focuses a lot faster and is more responsive. I love auto ISO function. Even at high ISO the pictures are still very useable. Excessive noise is no longer a big concern. There is still noise if you look for it but it is a lot more palatable than the 60D. For a regular guy who just wants to have fun this is perfectly good enough.I also like the absence of built in flash because it reduces weight and doesn't really do much. Even if I needed fill flash I would use an off camera flash. I also like the fact that the screen is fixed. I'm sure it makes it more durable. I wish there were more cross typed focus points. But it's not a dealbreaker. It simply means I need to lock focus and recompose. I could live with that because I hate to pay extra 1200 to get the Mark III for limited added features. I'd rather get a good lens.I think if you're used to a cropped sensor the 6D is more than adequate to open up tremendous possibilities. For someone who has a full frame camera the Mark III for sure is more suitable.
A lot of camera.

The 7D viewfinder is much better. There are a few things the 7D is better at but this 6D is still a nice camera. A positive upgrade from an XTi.

Great full frame DSLR camera
By Charlie Brown
from Alpine, Utah
This is a great camera if you want a full-frame DSLR camera but do not need all of the toys that the Canon 5D Mark III comes with and/or do not want to pay the higher price.
