Touch. It's always been the heart of communication. Simply put your finger to the brilliant 3.5-inch wide PureColor System Touch Panel LCD screen, and the versatile excellence of the Canon PowerShot SD3500 IS Digital ELPH is at your command. Naturally, a camera this smart and intuitive knows a few things about style. Color gleams, while smooth curves reveal a definite edge. Touch the future! The Canon PowerShot SD3500IS Digital ELPH comes equipped with 14.1 Megapixels of resolution that will generate high quality 16.5" x 23.4" prints.  Enjoy capturing sweeping landscapes and tall buildings with a 24mm ultra Wide-Angle Lens, and 5x Optical Zoom with Optical Image Stabilizer.  Its 720p HD movie shooting capability plus HDMI output connector allows easy playback of video and photos on your HDTV.

Next-generation huge 3.5-inch LCD with Touch Panel Technology that allows customization of touch screen icons and touch AF/AE.
Just touch your finger to the huge 3.5-inch wide PureColor System LCD screen with Touch Panel Technology and the PowerShot SD3500 IS Digital ELPH responds - creating a fun, natural interface that's just the way you want to interact with technology now. When shooting, you can choose an AF point, select a shooting mode, operate the flash, set exposure compensation and more simply by putting your finger to the LCD screen. Playback functions are also performed at your touch: switch between images, scroll display, magnify a portion of an image and control movie playback. And with 461,000 dots, the LCD gives you high quality viewing.

In addition, the PowerShot SD3500 IS Digital ELPH provides a natural, tactile method for viewing your photos: With Active Display technology, tapping the camera prompts images to playback, one after the other. Touch the screen when the camera is tilted, and the images will advance.

Smart AUTO will do the work for you by intelligently selecting the proper settings for the camera based on 22 predefined shooting situations.
Just set the Canon PowerShot SD3500 IS Digital ELPH to Smart AUTO and you're ready for maximum enjoyment from your picture taking every time. It's a relaxing and satisfying way to shoot because you can completely concentrate on your subject knowing that the camera has the technical details covered. Advanced Canon technology intelligently analyzes your situation and shooting conditions. Then it automatically selects an appropriate setting from specially defined settings. So whether you're photographing flowers, a captivating sunset, or your friends at the park, you can be confident that you're getting dramatic, memorable images. Even if your subject is moving, Canon's advanced detection technologies capture the action as it happens.

Bring creativity to your photos with new scene modes such as Miniature Effect and Fisheye Effect. Plus Low Light mode for dimly-lit situations.
The Canon PowerShot SD3500 IS Digital ELPH offers creative effects similar to those once found only in professional lenses. Miniature Effect creates an illusion where very large objects appear in miniature. Turn soaring cityscapes into a scene in seemingly dollhouse-like proportions.

Fisheye Effect uses barrel distortion to warp the image around the center, giving a distinctive curvature effect to the photo. The curvilinear images produced by Fisheye Effect can suggest the curve of the Earth, the inside of a dome, or the image you see through the peephole of a door.

With an ISO of 400 - 6400, the Low Light mode takes the Canon PowerShot SD3500 IS Digital ELPH where no ELPH-Series has gone before - into the shadows! Now even scenes notorious for having insufficient light, such as those lit by candles, fire, or street lamp, come through in fantastic color and clarity, with less noise. You can keep the feel of the scene intact without adding additional light, so the result will be scenes with the visual accuracy, depth and clarity you expect from a Canon camera.

New Smart Shutter technology automatically takes a picture when the subject smiles or winks.
Smart Shutter, which includes Smile Self-timer, Wink Self-timer and Face Detection Self-timer, detects faces in the scene and releases the shutter automatically in response to the appearance of an additional face, or when a smile or sassy wink occurs. These technologies help to make your photography less rushed and more natural, so getting the perfect shot is even easier.

1 out of 5 stars   Think twice before buying CanonSD3500is
By AjitD (Sugar Land, TX) November 23, 2010
Review submitted for Canon Powershot SD3500 IS 14.1 MP Digital Camera with 3.5" Touch Panel LCD (Silver) (CNPSSD3500ISS)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Good in Low Light, Small / Compact, Good Image Quality
Cons: Poor Flash, No Viewfinder, Lag / Shutter Delay, Short Battery Life
Other Comments: After receiving the camera, it failed to connect to my computer. Calling Canon tech support did not help because they could not isolate the problem. In next 4-5 days, I called them at least 6 times and they put me thru several variations and settings. After wasting almost a week, the tech support finally admited that there was a problem on the port of camera. Finally, I had to return it back to Buydig, who fortunately were prompt and diligent about issuing RMA number for full refund.

2 out of 5 stars   Casio vs Powershot sd3500
By Mrs_Pam (Albany, New York) May 21, 2010
Review submitted for Canon Powershot SD3500 IS 14.1 MP Digital Camera with 3.5" Touch Panel LCD (Silver) (CNPSSD3500ISS)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Good Image Stabilization, Great Zoom
Cons: Poor Flash
Other Comments: I had a Casio before this [loved it] but it was old and camera was done in. Loved the 3.5" touch screen feature of this camera, however, it has a lag time between pictures and does not capture action well. I am disappointed and am considering returning the camera. When I was into SLR cameras I always bought Canon. I believe it was a mistake this time.

3 out of 5 stars   video play is disappointing
By BobHowdy (Austin, TX) May 01, 2010
Review submitted for Canon Powershot SD3500 IS 14.1 MP Digital Camera with 3.5" Touch Panel LCD (Silver) (CNPSSD3500ISS)
Verified Purchaser
Pros: Good in Low Light, Good Image Stabilization, Nice Body Color
Cons:
Other Comments: The A/V port cover broke the first day. You need hands the size of a pixie to open the cover. When you connect to a TV through the A/V port, the only control you have is to move forward or backward through your pictures. The display screen where the controls are is completely black. You have to tap the side or move your finger across the display. There is no description of this operation or instructions on how to use it when connected through the A/V port. You can't see or use the index or zoom when using the A/V port. The video quality isn't good enough for HD and, the files are so large it's difficult to manage on your PC. The owners manual doesn't even cover the features that are on the camera menu. I like this camera but, at the same time it's disappointing compared to the previous three Cannon cameras we have purchased. It seems to be the trend these days that products are not well thought out and the information you can find is intentionally misleading. I couldn't find any local store that carried this camera to test drive it. However, the video playback problems with this camera would not have been uncovered in that test drive.
