Canon SX50 is best in its class
from San Diego, CA
I had the Nikon P510 and this is by far a much better camera. The zoom quality is much better and the zoom is faster and focus is more accurate. Very well build and fits well in the hand. Well built. The best in it's class in my opinion. A good overall camera to take with you if you can't bring your camera bodies and lenses with you on a trip.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Best camera ever!
from Southeast Kansas
I own a lot of cameras, but this one is my favorite all-around. It has an optical zoom that is so outstanding that when I photograph birds, I can see every feather on them. I don't remember ever being this excited about a camera. I'm pretty sure my other cameras are going to be gathering dust! I haven't found anything I don't like about it. Last night I even took a beautiful picture of the moon!
