This lightweight zoom - which, at less than two pounds, weighs almost half as much as some comparable lenses - is also compact (at just over 6 inches long); dust-, splash- and freeze-proof; features a revolutionary Dual VCM autofocus mechanism; and - most astonishing of all - delivers extremely sharp edge-to-edge optical performance that actually exceeds our universally acclaimed SHQ (Super High Quality) Four Thirds glass.

Internal Zoom Maintains Constant Length, Improves Shooting Stability

The quest for gasp-worthy long shots leads many photographers to grapple with massive zooms. Enter the new M.ZUIKO ED 40-150mm f2.8 PRO (35mm equivalent focal length: 80-300mm). At less than two pounds and a constant 6.2-inch length (lens movement is internal), it's easy to maintain a stable shooting position. And with a minimum focusing distance of about 19 inches over the entire zoom range, you can even go macro. So leave the bazooka at home - this lens is both portable and versatile.

The World's First Lens With Two Autofocus Motors

Smooth, fast autofocus is the key to sharp images. The 40-150mm f2.8 PRO doubles down with an industry first: Dual VCM (voice coil motor) AF. Separating the focusing mechanism into two lens groups controlled by individual linear drive motors makes AF performance extremely fast and, with no gears involved, incredibly smooth. The lens also features a bright, fixed f2.8 aperture and a customizable L/FN function button, which you can program to activate the camera settings you use most frequently.

With its premium metal build quality, weather-proof construction and sophisticated internal glass, the 40-150mm PRO lives up to its "professional" tag. It incorporates 16 lens elements in 10 groups, including 3 ED, 1 EDA (Extra-Low Dispersion Aspheric) and 1 HD, and - for the first time in an M.ZUIKO lens - 1 Super EDA lenses for greatly reduced chromatic aberration across the entire zoom range, and boasts Olympus's ZERO (Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical) coating to help prevent ghosting and reduce flare.

A 1.4x teleconverter is available for the 40-150mm f2.8 PRO that extends its focal length to a whopping 210mm (35mm equivalent of 420mm) for those really long shots. You can also get a protective filter, lens hood and lens pouch to keep your investment safe.

The bundled lens hood has been marvelously designed to collapse back onto the lens for easy storage. When extended, the locking mechanism will fully support the weight of the lens and camera body.
