The compact and easy-to-use Dimage Z10 3.2 megapixel digital camera is an affordable yet feature-rich camera, perfect for novice as well as advanced amateur photographers.
High-Performance 32X (8X Optical, 4X Digital) Zoom Lens
The DiMAGE Z10 features a high-performance 8X optical zoom lens consisting of 11 elements in nine groups, including two aspheric lenses. The DiMAGE Z10 offers a wide shooting range. The 8X optical zoom gives focal lengths from 36-290mm (35mm equivalent), and boosts those focal lengths all the way up to 1160mm (35mm equivalent) when combined with the 4X seamless digital zoom.
3.2-Megapixel CCD for Beautiful Prints
The 3.2-megapixel, 1/2.5 inch CCD produces plenty of detail for creating high-quality enlargements?as large as 13-1/2 x 10-1/4 inches at 150 dpi.
Superbly Detailed Images with CxProcess II
Konica Minolta?s CxProcess II image processing technology is used to bring out the best in the 3.2 megapixel CCD. CxProcess II controls the essential image qualities of color, contrast, and sharpness while minimizing noise.
Fastest Startup in Its Class*
The DiMAGE Z10 boasts an amazingly fast and fluid startup; in fact it?s the fastest in its class. Just switch the camera on and you?re ready to begin taking great pictures in just about half a second.

When it comes to fast autofocusing, the DiMAGE Z10 is clearly ahead of the pack with Rapid Autofocus (AF) and Predictive Focus Control. The Z10 features hybrid AF technology combining a passive AF sensor with the video AF system. Rapid AF takes a mere 0.3 second?an essential feature since moving subjects often go quickly out of view when using high zoom magnifications.
Predictive Focus Control
All cameras experience a minute delay from when the shutter-release button is pressed until the image is captured. Especially at long focal lengths, this slight delay can be significant with fast-moving subjects. The DiMAGE Z10 uses Predictive Focus Control to compensate for the delay and adjusts focus right up until the exposure is made.
Get as Close as 0.4 Inch with Macro
Shoot amazing close-ups in Macro mode. Konica Minolta?s superior image quality will make your close-ups look stunning and powerful. In Macro mode, you can bring the lens as close as 0.4 inch from your subject. Insects, flowers, jewelry, and other small objects can be photographed up close and in full detail.
Progressive Capture drive mode makes sure you never miss the action. When the shutter-release button is pressed and held, Progressive Capture begins saving images in the buffer memory. Simply watch the action on the monitor. When it?s over, release the shutter button and the images in the buffer memory will be saved to the memory card. Six consecutive frames can be captured at approximately 1.5 fps.
Up to 500 Frames on Four AA Alkaline Batteries
The DiMAGE Z10?s battery-saving technology allows you to take up to 500 frames before the four AA alkaline batteries run out. This is more shots than any other digital camera with built-in flash running on AA alkaline batteries*.

Powerful Built-In Flash
The DiMAGE Z10 packs the most powerful flash ever built into a Konica Minolta digital camera. With a guide number of 39.37 feet (12m), the flash can illuminate a subject up to approximately 20 feet (6m) away when used at the wide-angle position with autoexposure and auto camera sensitivity.
Dark Noise Reduction
Dark Noise Reduction gives exceptional night images by automatically preventing the blemishes and graininess associated with slow-shutter shots.
P/A/S/M Creative Exposure Control
the DiMAGE Z10 offers you creative exposure control with four modes: Programmed AE, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, and Manual.
Three Metering Modes
Another similarity to a high-quality 35mm SLR is the Z10?s three selectable metering modes: multi-segment, center-weighted, and spot. Multi-segment metering uses 256 segments to determine exposure.
Real-Time Histogram Display
Taking pristine images in brilliant daytime conditions has never been easier than with the DiMAGE Z10?s live viewfinder, equipped with a live histogram. Because it?s not always easy to determine the brightness levels within your image in direct sunlight, the histogram supplies the information you need to adjust exposure more accurately.
The DiMAGE Z10 is equipped with Konica Minolta?s exclusive Switch Finder. This unique system allows the camera?s LCD monitor to be viewed either directly or through the viewfinder. Since a single monitor is used, you need not worry about the color, contrast, and resolution difference between separate rear and viewfinder monitors.
Auto, Preset, or Custom White Balance
White balance controls how the camera interprets the color of the ambient lighting. Auto white balance compensates for changes in lighting automatically. Five preset white-balance settings: daylight, cloudy, tungsten, fluorescent, and flash, can be selected for specific light sources. For critical control over color, the custom setting allows the camera to be calibrated to the lighting conditions at the scene.
For added flexibility and convenience, the flash button can be customized to handle different settings. This means that instead of going through the menus on the LCD monitor, you can use the flash button to change settings like drive mode, white balance, focus mode, color mode, or sensitivity.
E-Mail Copy Function
With the DiMAGE Z10, e-mailing images is simple and quick. The e-mail copy function makes a 640 x 480 JPEG copy of an image on the memory card so that it can be easily transferred over the Internet.
Creative Color Modes
As well as natural color and black & white, the DiMAGE Z10 has color modes for vivid color and sepia. Vivid color increases the saturation to produce vibrant color images. Sepia creates the feel of antique photographs with its warm tone. These creative color modes can be used for still images as well as movies.
VGA Movie Recording
The DiMAGE Z10 can record movies without sound. It records 15-fps VGA-size (640 x 480) movies, which are much easier to view during playback than conventional QVGA-size (320 x 240) movies. It also records 320 x 240 movies at either 30 fps or 15 fps. The XR (Extended Recording) Movie mode lets you record longer movie clips onto the SD memory card until the memory card is full. Night Movie uses high camera sensitivity to record under extreme low-light conditions. And Movie Frame Capture lets you select your favorite scenes from a movie save them as still images.
New Ergonomic Design
The DiMAGE Z10?s design is advanced yet familiar and easy-to-use. Despite its large 8X zoom range, it weighs just 10.6 ounces. Its ergonomic form gives you a steady grip while its intuitive control button layout allows even camera novices to be up and enjoying digital photography in no time at all.
PictBridge Compliant for Direct Printer Connection
Forget all about complicated connections to a PC. Get fast, fun printouts directly from your camera by connecting the Z10 directly to a PictBridge-compliant printer. You can check which images you want to print on the Z10?s LCD monitor and then print out your favorites in no time at all. (PictBridge is an industry standard established by CIPA, the Camera & Imaging Products Association.)
Uses AA Batteries
Easy-to-find AA batteries power the DiMAGE Z10. Alkaline or rechargeable Ni-MH can be used. No matter where you are in the world, you will never have to worry about finding extra batteries. And the Z10?s power-saving technology will give you the most performance from those batteries.
Bundled with DiMAGE Viewer
DiMAGE Viewer supports the latest generation of Konica Minolta digital cameras. The Viewer complements the camera by allowing still and movie images to be processed and edited on a computer. A wide range of image-processing controls is available, plus a movie enhancer plug-in for editing and processing digital video. The DiMAGE Viewer can edit and process numerous common image-file formats and is not limited to Konica Minolta cameras.
Optional Wide-Angle Converter
The optional Wide-Angle Converter ZCW-200 allows you to fit more of the scene into each shot. The lens has a 26mm wide angle equivalent that is ideal for capturing indoor or outdoor architecture, large groups, and panoramic landscapes
