4 out of 5 stars   Great Value for Excellent Glass
By JayDeeCee (SoCal) February 20, 2014
Review submitted for Rokinon 35mm f/1.4 Wide-Angle US UMC Aspherical Lens for Canon (RO35MC)
    Verified Reviewer
Pros: Sharp wide open, and gets better when stopping down. CA controlled fairly well. Solid Construction and focus ring is damped well.
    Cons: Big Piece of Glass.
Other Comments: If you do not manually focusing, then this is the 35mm lens to get. The Rokinon has a minimum focus distance of under 12", so remember the DOF wide open at that distance is quite thin.

5 out of 5 stars   Second-best landscape lens?
By Frugality (Houston, TX) January 03, 2014
Review submitted for Rokinon 35mm f/1.4 Wide-Angle US UMC Aspherical Lens for Canon (RO35MC)
    Verified Purchaser
Pros: Stellar Resolution At F11, price
    Cons: Relatively Large Heavy
Other Comments: I bought this lens because no other Canon, Sigma, Tamron, Zeiss lens appears to have similar stellar resolution at f 11. Most other lenses show best optical performance and resolution at around f 5.6 - this lens 'peaks' at smaller apertures, which makes it a primary landscape lens. I use it together with the also stellar Samyang/Rokinon 14mm. Both lenses 'behave' very differently: the 35mm has less micro contrast, but focusing is much more accurate, while the 14mm is razor sharp not least because of excellent micro contrast, but shows focus shift and a very narrow range for infinity focus (which is precisely at the 3m mark for my copy).

5 out of 5 stars   Pure awesomeness!
By Vinu (Arlington, Tx) May 30, 2013
Review submitted for Rokinon 35mm f/1.4 Wide-Angle US UMC Aspherical Lens for Canon (RO35MC)
    Verified Purchaser
Pros: Good Bokeh, Crystal Clear Clarity
Cons: Manual focus, Need Expertise With Mfoc
Other Comments: Real good value compared to the Canon 35mm at 1500$. Excellent picture clarity and maximum bokeh even from a minimal distance to the subject. Needs some practice with the manual focus, once you get a hang of it no one can stop you from those awesome clicks!

5 out of 5 stars   Best 35mm for the money
By Adam (Crestwood, KY) December 26, 2012
Review submitted for Rokinon 35mm f/1.4 Wide-Angle US UMC Aspherical Lens for Canon (RO35MC)
    Verified Purchaser
    Pros: price, Sharpness
Cons: Manual focus, No Focus Confirm
Other Comments: For the money, this is an exceptional kit of glass. One of the sharpest lenses I've ever used, even wide open. Manual focus can be a challenge, but I was able to affix a confirm chip. After calibrating, confirm works fairly well. With the stock focus screen @ f1.4, there is still some variability in the confirm that can make or break an extreme closeup.
