Ace but get the right graphics card.
from SF east bay
Using it as a computer monitor. I had pre-bought a graphics card locally that supposedly suported 4K i.e. HDMI 1.4a, however on hookup it was rubbish! Yes it could put out 4K (UHD) but the characters were unreadable. My eyesight is poor but putting a magnifier over an M that looked like an N confirmed it wasn't me. Desperately I re-read all the reviews I could get. No one else mentioned chars so bad. No amount of goofing around in the menus could fix it, I flashed the latest firmware, no diff. It had to be the card... I prayed. I found that Diamnond had a card with a Radeon 7790 which they explicitly stated would support 4K. I went for it and lo and behold it was good, very good, excellent in fact: it was great with all TV menu parms at factory setting. Well pleased.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Works well. Great computer display if you want 4k. Just waiting for 4k movies to come out to actually watch movies in 4k.

More Pixels = More Productivity
from Upper Saddle River, NJ
I use this as a monitor for my desktop. The amount of real estate is nothing short of amazing. There are 0 bad pixels and text looks really crisp. The 4k screen allows for tons of windows to be open without overlap. For programming it's excellent as it can fit twice as many lines of code on the screen vs. a 1080p monitor. I have not found anything anything about this TV/monitor that I dislike. It was a great buy!
