I bought two of these - both for pc's in my house with dirty power. The house is old and is admittedly at the end of the power 'food chain' for the system (19 mi from nearest substation per power lineman). There is an industrial plant several miles up the road on the same power system as we are, and the electricity "bounces" all over the place. These keep it within nominal range. I use them in front of UPS power, and I set the UPS to monitor the input voltage at all times. I can tell what the incoming voltage is at a glance. Thanks APC.

+/- 10% voltage variation is a rather wide range. Would be better if it were of a narrower range, such as +/- 5%.

Many years ago I lost a $3000 flat screen TV due to voltage spikes which fortunately was replaced while under warranty. Bought one of these and the replacement TV lasted another 15 years!

Automatic Voltage Regulation devices (AVR) are great for electrical environments with poor quality AC power. This one works great and is quite economical. However, it can do very little when blackout conditions occur. I think it makes more sense to spend just a bit more and purchase a UPS for protection of sensitive electronic loads. A UPS will provide the same, if not better, AVR protection, and also allows for a controlled and gentle shutdown when total power loss conditions occur.
