We bought this toaster oven a year and a half ago. I had one at a previous house that was space-challenged for about 10 years before I had to replace it, and loved it. It was the older version with the knobs. Loved that Black & Decker continues to sell this unit, now updated with digital features (though I preferred the knobs, but I get the reason for the update). Installation was difficult, buy let's face it, this is the only one on the market at a reasonable price point, so it was worth the effort. I'm surprised there isn't more competition in this area, with families spending thousands on expensive countertops, who wants to cover them up with a toaster?

I'm partial to under-counter toaster ovens but, unfortunately, Spacemaker is the only one sold and even it seems to have been removed from the market. The mounting bracket for this one is poorly designed: the front clips are easily bent out of shape and the toaster will fall down unexpectedly. Should it help anyone finding this, I solved the clip problem by stacking three strong neodymium magnets between the steel mounting plate and the oven's top, on each side. The ones shown in my photo are 1.26 x 1/8" uncoated discs that can be had on Amazon for ~$1 each if you buy ten. Quite sure the toaster oven won't fall down again. I can recommend the product when modified this way. Frankly, I think magnets could figure in an improved bracket design should B&D start selling these again.

This is our fourth under the counter toaster oven since 1972. The first three all gave many years of hard (daily) use. I have the same complaints as others: difficulty in making it stay mounted (scoll down to Big Al's explanation of how to deal with that), the fact that no pans are included (we are using our old ones), and one sided, and uneven at that, toasting. It also seems like one setting for toast isn't nearly enough but the next highest number ends up burnt. The need to set a timer for baking is a mixed blessing-it does keep me from burning things because I do not always hear the timer beep. My conclusion - another case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and new isn't always an improvement.

How this product made it past Black and Decker's quality control flabbergasts me. 1) the manual says one thing and refers to a picture doing another. 2) the toaster and the mounting bracket we obviously not intended for each other. I believe the engineering department has some explaining to do... I really should have read these reviews before buying this toaster because

My husband is very handy. Install items not adequate for installation. Had to call customer service for more items to install. It is hanging and love using this product instead of starting large oven for food. This company could also include a tray for baking. I burn myself trying to slide out rack to get food out. At this price, you could include.

We bought this over 8 months ago and it's still sitting on the counter. We have had B&D Spacemaker Toaster Ovens for over 20 years and have never had a problem with installation. My husband is very handy and was beginning to wonder if it was him until we saw all the reviews on here stating the terrible installation. We have had it mounted two-three times only to have it fall down. Please help!

I just bought this toaster oven to replace the old model which I loved. This model, the front bracket does not work. The toaster oven falls off the front bracket so I can't hang it under the cabinet, which is why I bought this model I would not recommend this.

We've owned Black and Decker under the counter toaster oven before and loved it. Never had any issues. It was time to have it replaced. So we we purchased the New Spacemaker Under the Cabinet Toaster Oven. After one week of install the toaster oven falls off the bracket when used. Therefore, it is sitting on our counter. Please contact me and let me know if there is a way to make sure the toaster oven can be secured in the bracket and not fall off.
