My brother PE500 is awesome! I love it! 9 years and its still going strong.My only downfall with it is it will only do 4 x 4 hoop. However, there are hundreds of items to be made with it. Brother machines are my favorites! They are well built and easy to thread and clean.

Even with this being an older model machine it stitches very nicely and has many features that even newer models don't offer. I am new to sewing and I have been able to figure out almost all features. I took it in to be cleaned an looked over and the repair man was even impressed at how nice it it stitches and the quality/condition and he's been working on high end machines since the early 80's. Only negative I have at this point is knowing that if it ever needs to be replaced I won't be able to afford a new machine with all these features. I feel spoiled :)

This was given to me used. I was excited to try it. However even though I sew, I found it a bit difficult to follow the manual to actually embroider. I watched videos on-line, but none of those helped. Wish there were step by step instructions.

I've owned my PE500 for 5 yrs + and it has performed like a champ every time. It has so much to offer. Embroidery couldn't be easier with this machine. It's workmanship is of great quality , great price, easy maintenance and so much fun. It will use any .pes file you can find via computer connection ( must fit your hoop size) . I love everything about it.
