4.5-5 stars. Overall, I am really impressed with this espresso machine in quality, convenience, and endless possibilities. This is perfect for the espresso afficionado and/or snob, one who wants barista quality espresso without all coffee shop bells, whistles, and money. While you don't have to be a trained barista to use this machine, there is definitely some trial and error involved to get just the right cup (amount of espresso, timing, etc). But, it's an easy and fun process. Quality, let's start here. Does this machine deliver on high quality espresso that's worth bypassing other makers? In terms of taste, yes-- this De'Longhi machine absolutely can deliver. The espresso is rich and pure, and the aroma is out of this world. The machine has a 15-bar pressure, self-priming system, and two separate thermostats for water and steam pressure-- your hot water, milk, and espresso will always be the perfect temp. Just be careful-- the steel components of the machine get very hot! Convenience, set-up, and use. So easy! The machine was simple to put together. The manual was clear, filled with pictures and directions that were simple to follow for set-up and use. I love that this comes with 3 filters-- single shot, double shot, and one to use with espresso pods. Use your own ground espresso or make it even easier and use an e.s.e.pod for no mess and pre-set perfection. I have tried both ways (espresso, pod), and they both give equally great espresso. The machine is actually quite compact and it doesn't take up a large footprint of space; so this is ideal for those with limited counter space. It is a mix of stainless steel and plastic, very easy to clean. The design is sleek and attractive. Points to keep in mind: Take time to learn how to make the perfect shot of espresso (ground size, amount, brew time, etc). The filters can be a bit tough to push down and the filter holder is a bit tough to turn to the proper position. This may be because it's new and needs a tight fit-- just an FYI. Overall verdict: great machine that gives barista quality espresso without barista skills needed. Reasonable price point for this type of home espresso machine. Perfect compact size with a mighty output. Love the versatility of using ground espresso or pods. Easy to use, easy to clean up, love the milk frother. The possibilities are endless-- espresso, americano (my favorite), lattes, cappuccinos, etc. Have fun with the milk frother-- it's the best!

With the DeLonghi Manual Espresso Maker I am able to make all of my favorite coffee shoppe beverages for a fraction of the cost in my own home. I was a little nervous about using the machine for the first time. There are so many features and I thought it would be complicated. But, it is so easy to make great tasting Espresso based coffees in just a few minutes. I am very fond of hot mocha lattes. DeLonghi showed me, with detailed pictures, how to run the machine and make my own delicious latte. The machine comes with a single and double shot filter. So on mornings that I wake up still groggy, I go for the double shot. And when my husband is home. I can make 2 espressos at one time so we can enjoy them together. There is also a larger removable water tank. Making it easy to make a very large coffee or 2 regular sized coffees on a single fill. And enough extra water to steam/froth your milk. I now have so much fun making specialty coffees for myself, my family, and my friends. And, I'm getting pretty good at using the machine and can give my batista a run for his money.. This is a very nice Espresso Maker and I am still learning about all of the neat functions.and features like the cup warmer, and that I can use an ESE pod in the filter too. DeLonghi put a lot of thought into this machine so we can make high quality, great tasting specialty coffees in the comfort of home.

Two weeks ago, receive the DeLonghi manual espresso machine. I has been used for that time and this is my oppinion. The machine works very good the coffe cup is creamy and strong and the aroma of coffee is delicious. Some cons that I found is very slow to fill and prepare your coffee. We start our day at 4 am and to prepare 2 coffees invest at least 15 minutes. Also the machine is dirty because has leaks and when your prepare the coffee always hace residuos of coffee in the table. Also the portion of coffee is very small. In conclusion, I recommend the machine if you have time and patience to clean, and refill coffee. If you don't rush in the morning to go work is fantastic.

How I love drinking coffee made in this coffee machine. I can't wait to drink this coffee in the morning. My coffee is incredible every morning now. With this coffee machine I can make not only coffee, but also lattes and much more.

Amazing product very easy to ensamble, the water warm in less than 5 minutes, the flavor of my coffee is reserved from the pressure of water. If you are looking to get a expreso machine this is great option. You can use regular ground coffee or the ready version.

This was my first experience using an espresso machine and I have to say it wasn't too hard. Works great and makes awesome espresso. Nice clean look and doesn't take up too much room on my counter. We use it all the time and love it!

Ok, I've been wanting an espresso machine for a while so I was super thrilled to have the chance to get this. This works great! It's simple to use and has some basic recipes that comes with it. I'll need to watch a few videos to make better espressos but this is worth it.

This Espresso Machine is perfect for beginners. I was a little nervous to use it at first, but its so easy and fun to use. I love being able to experiment with different coffees. Highly recommend for beginners.

I enjoy this espresso maker. It makes a nice drink and the frother works well too. The only issue is that you have to hover the entire process since it's completely manual. It's a nice machine but I would upgrade to one that doesn't have to be watched the entire time.
