The zoom power of the COOLPIX P900 is nothing short of spectacular. This is 2000mm of optical zoom-more than any Nikon COOLPIX yet. Advanced shooters will appreciate the outstanding image quality and DSLR styling-a sure grip, a swiveling Vari-angle display, a high-resolution Electronic Viewfinder that turns on automatically when lifted to your eye, even a PSAM mode control dial. Those who simply want great photos and Full HD videos without any fuss will appreciate the point-and-shoot ease and long battery life-up to 360 shots per charge! And everyone will appreciate the built-in Wi-Fi and Near Field Communication technology (NFC) connectivity which wirelessly connects the COOLPIX P900 to a compatible smartphone or tablet for instant photo sharing and remote camera control. Change the way you see, capture and share the world.  --NFC feature for Android v 4.0 or later smart devices only

The sky is no longer the limit - 83x Optical Zoom, 166x Dynamic Fine Zoom
With 2,000mm equivalent focal length, subjects barely visible with the naked eye can fill your frame. And if they don't, Dynamic Fine Zoom, an enhanced digital zoom effectively doubles that reach-to a 4,000mm equivalent! If you lose sight of your subject while zoomed in, press the Snap-Back Zoom button for a quick zoomed-out view. Find your subject again and then release the button-the COOLPIX P900 will zoom right back in. The whole time, 5.0 stops Dual Detect Optical VR improves VR performance using enhanced detection accuracy to help keep your photos sharp and your videos steady.  --Based on CIPA Standard; measured at approx. 350 mm (35mm format equivalent)

Send photos right to your smart device - With Nikon's Built-in Wi-Fi and NFC
Nikon snapbridge describes the experience of quickly and easily sending photos wirelessly from your Wi-Fi & NFC enabled COOLPIX P900 to a compatible smartphone or tablet. Share your great photos on the go, even in remote locations, or use a smartphone or tablet to control your camera.

See your shots in a new light - Swiveling Vari-angle display and high-resolution eye-level viewfinder. The COOLPIX P900 gives you two ways to frame your shots: a swiveling Vari-angle LCD display and a high-resolution eye-level viewfinder (EVF). Flip out the large Vari-angle display and capture photos and videos from creative perspectives-overhead, down low or just comfortably in front of you. Put the COOLPIX P900 to your eye and the EVF automatically turns on and displays a beautiful and accurate high-resolution view.

Take control of your shots - Full manual exposure control
The COOLPIX P900 can go as far as you want to go. For advanced shooters, a PSAM mode dial is available right on top of the camera, much like a DSLR. Control the COOLPIX P900's aperture and shutter speed to control your shots exactly as you want them or overcome difficult shooting situations. But you don't have to understand exposure controls to get great results-the COOLPIX P900 can do all that work for you.

See where you've been - Built-in GPS and Points of Interest (POI) for creating amazing photo journals. Relive the excitement of your travels in a whole new way. The COOLPIX P900 records the exact location of each shot you take, so you can follow the path of your adventure and every stunning view along the way! Share your journeys on Google Maps, Google+, and other social networking sites, or with Nikon View NX2 software. Points of Interest (POI) show you nearby photo-ops like scenic lookouts and historic landmarks. The COOLPIX P900 is the ultimate travel companion!

Charge and go - The COOLPIX P900 is powered by an included EN-EL23 battery that charges quickly and delivers up to 360 shots per charge. Buy a second battery, and you can always have a fully charged back-up in your bag.

Freeze action in its tracks - When the action speeds up, simply hold the shutter button and fire off up to 7 continuous shots per second. Catch views you may not have seen before in your photos.

Show off your creativity - Unleash your creativity with the COOLPIX P900. Turn on Moon Mode, zoom in with the power of 83x optical zoom and capture stunning detailed images of the moon. Highlight a single color in a black & white photo. Create portraits that look like paintings and illustrations. Combine multiple exposures into one high dynamic range image and so much more-all right in the camera.

Record superior videos - Record phenomenal Full HD 1080p videos with stereo sound. Connect to an HDTV and watch your videos come alive.  --Requires optional cable

Wi-Fi Compatibility - This camera's built-in Wi-Fi capability can only be used with a compatible iPhone, iPad, and/or iPod touch or smart devices running on the Android operating system. The Wireless Mobile Utility application must be installed on the device before it can be used with this camera.

The Coolpix camera kit contained everything they described. All products worked fine and I was able to get the manufacturer camera warranty. No issues here. My experience was great and I would buy again from Beach - no worry

I use for personal use only. I love the super zoom even though I had to accept a heavier camera than the Nikon P500 that I also have.

Comments about Refurbished COOLPIX P900 16MP 83x Optical VR Zoom Digital Camera

It doesn't give you DSLR or advanced compact picture quality. However, It gives you decent to very good pictures in many, many settings. If I were a private eye doing visual surveillance, I would get this camera very quickly. You can do street photography of people two blocks away. You can get pictures of birds perched on branches 200 meters away.

Pros: Optical Mag superior Heft n feel n overall build is expected to be Nikon sturdy. Heavy Duty and Bulky to accommodate that zoom system. Autofocus state is adequate Anti-vibration seems to work but jury still out. Time! Auto eye detection at viewfinder needs a shorter detect point than 6-8 inches I measure. I do a lot of waist level shots and very low angle stuff and I can't pull it back against body for support. A select switch would be preferred in my case. I like, very much: LCD view finder/review, Magnification, heft n feel, Like using in lower light levels in sports applications but I need more use to give valid opinion. Light level requirements with smaller pixel number adequate but final judgement still out. Things to improve: Auto focus reaction time and sensitivity and weighting selections easier to select, IE a manual selection in menu Perhaps? Overall: Ask me again in 6 months Cons: Software operations and arrangements are lacking as I typically expected. Bulky and heavy. Eye detection viewfinder guestionable for me. Still learning system ask me in 6 months. Needs RAW image access hear us NIKON. Other thoughts: I own and have used Sony HX 300 for last 2 years My history with Nikon's began in late 60's in USAF and in 90's worked for Nikon Microelectronics Dealer, also was with Carl Zeiss, Olympus as employee. I have extensive background in photograhy, Minolta SLRs were my choice basically because I started with a SR1S thru SRT series. My first 35mm was a Kodak Motormatic 35F when available perhaps 1960 or there about. First photo sold to Pineville Sun Times in 1953 using waist level viewfinder Kodak.

Nikon P900 point and shoot camera

Pros: As a pro photographer, I didn't want to bring my work cameras on a recent trip through the Hawaaian Islands. It's often rainy and we were going to be hiking as well. Heavier DSLRs are bulky and I didn't want to worry about damage as I was coming home to shoot two weddings. This camera was awesome! The zoom was like carrying an extra lens. At 2000 mm- I could shoot and crop out scenes while shooting that I'd normally need another camera lens to do. The sharpness wasn't always there. It does need a tripod mount when shooting at full 2000. As well, I was shooting from a car or ship often- so camera shake was there. Hand held in normal circumstances- probably better. This camera is a great option for pros on the go without the bulk or expense. Love the ability to shoot in Shutter priority, manual and video. It's an all in one camera with portability. Love it ! Cons: The cons were few- I wish I'd had a lens attachment strap. I wasn't used to having a lens cap and It was hard to keep up with. I'm used to having a protective UV lens- and don't use lens caps. The battery didn't last as long as I thought. I kept turning the camera off- to save it. I'd order an extra battery. All in all- great little camera. I'm a Nikon fan. Love it. Other thoughts:

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Pros: I had a Nikon Coolpix p600 before I bought this camera. This camera uses the same battery so I didn't need to buy extra batteries. I take lots of pictures on a resent trip out west I took and saved over 3,000 pictures. The P900 is a much faster camera from off to picture. Faster from zoom to picture. The camera hardly ever gets confused while shooting, like the P600 did. Picture quality Is great for me, I hardly ever print them, I store them then make slide show to on TV's. Battery life is good I can take 200-300 shots depending on how much zooming I do. I try not to use the flash, and the pictures are in focus. I like the wifi on my phone for selfies I can see the what I'm going to take and adjust the zoom as needed. I always have the right lens for any shot. Last I normally shot in the automatic mode, it's fast an easy, and I always get my picture. Cons: The P900 is heavier and bigger than the P600. Other thoughts:

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
