    High speed, high precision fast hybrid AF realizing high speed AF of 0.05 second 

    A phase difference detection type AF sensor is placed in the image sensor. Equipped with fast hybrid AF phase difference AF and AF precision is superior in speed and motion capture AF has combines the benefits of high contrast AF. With realizing high-speed response 0.05 seconds, AF accuracy and motion tracking performance that has evolved significantly, captures high accuracy object instantly.

    Wide AF cover range by 315 point image plane phase difference AF sensor

    Valid approximately 20.1 million pixel image sensor disposed phase difference detection AF sensor, placing the image plane phase difference AF sensor 315 points to a range that covers about 65% of the imaging area. The high-density arrangement and wide AF coverage, also subject focus is to move hard small subject or to captured high accuracy in a wide range of screen.

    High-speed processing as a system is realized by a combination of a high-speed front-end LSI and an image processing engine BIONZ X (Bion's X) with high image processing capability. High-speed continuous shooting of up to about 24 frames per second following AF · AE has been made possible by cooperation with "fast hybrid AF" realizing high speed AF of 0.05 second . In addition, due to the large capacity of the buffer memory, continuous shooting has become possible up to 233, which makes it possible to capture a definite moment more reliably.

    High-resolution high-speed continuous shooting

    As image processing became faster, we realized shooting at resolutions exceeding 20 megapixels without compromising image quality even at high-speed continuous shooting at 24 fps. Also, because of the high speed of internal processing and the large capacity of built-in memory, it is possible to confirm the shot image immediately after consecutive shooting. On the playback screen, the number of remaining pages for continuous shooting is displayed.

    High speed reading from the sensor dramatically reduces distortion of moving objects, which is likely to occur when a high-speed subject is photographed. Scanning from the top to the bottom of the pixel area at a speed more than 5 times faster than the conventional method reduces the difference in reading timings at the top and bottom of the screen. We realized an electronic shutter that reduces dynamic distortion (rolling shutter phenomenon), which is a characteristic of CMOS sensor, which occurs when the motion of the subject exceeds the scanning speed. In addition, it achieves overwhelming high-speed shooting of the maximum shutter speed of 1/32000 second, enabling photographic expression that fulfills the creativity of the photographer.

    Super slow motion up to 960 fps (40 times)

    With a stacked CMOS sensor, Super Slow Motion shooting of up to 960 fps (40 times) can now be captured as a series of actions even in scenes that could only be captured for a moment. By specifying the shooting frame rate (240 fps, 480 fps, 960 fps) and recording setting (24 p, 30 p, 60 p), it is possible to shoot 4 × - 40 × super slow motion. The timing of the recording start can be selected from two types, "start trigger (record a certain time after pressing the MOVIE button)" and "end trigger (record a certain time until pressing the MOVIE button)", I do not miss shooting opportunities such as movement.
