This tablet has everything that the music lover in you is looking for excellent sound quality the touch screen responds quickly to your touch. The OS is the new android Kit Kat in which makes the tablet run very smoothly. The system is very game compatible for gamers download time is awesome. I would recommend that you download the Dark Night game to text the touch response and you will see just how much you will like this tablet for gaming I also recommend for the best sound quality that you purchase a pair of Beats by Dre (if you don't already own a pair) and rock out to all your favorite tunes/ gamming apps/ movies together. The only thing that I can say is a down fall is this tablet is not compatible with Microsoft Office 365 app. I tried to download the app and was told so. But I can say this that if you use google chrome to login your outlook365 account you can use the online office 365 that way. So it's not a total loss. OH yes for online movies no matter what is your pleasure dolphin and google chrome is good for that I am into anime and watch a lot of it on my tablet.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I was excited when I ordered my Slate 7 Beats Special Edition after reading all the features. I was even more excited when it arrived and I got to turn it on for the first time. After set up and downloading my apps and playing with it for a week, I felt that the experience of the Slate wasn't much better than my Galaxy SIII and even lacked in some areas where my Galaxy excels. I was not impressed with the sound quality of the Slate 7 Beats Special Edition as I felt the only advantage it had over my phone was that the speakers where front facing and could get louder. Certain apps, such as TegraZone and others, continuously crashed until restored to their non-updated version. The touch screen was not as responsive as my Galaxy SIII and the surface didn't allow for an even smooth glide either. Even the stylus wasn't that gratifying as I found myself tapping the screen multiple times to get a response. App performance didn't seem to benefit from the hardware either as some apps even lagged, such as the GSN Casino app. The auto-rotate feature was a bit annoying as every time that the screen orientated horizontally then back vertically it would distort the wallpaper chosen from a gallery picture. The video quality was impressive though as was the battery life, after its initial charging it lasted me 3 days of on and off useage watching videos, downloading apps, and listening to music. The out of the box set up process was easy enough as well. HP Customer service has been nothing short of amazing with me too. Like I said its ok but I'm returning mine and I'm probably going to look at other tablet options.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

I quickly received this tablet through FedEx. When I turned it on it didn't prompt me to login to Google at all. Upon further inspection it didn't have all of the specified apps installed (like google play). I contacted HP chat and got wonderful service from Charis, with hours of me trying to apply an update to get the tablet in factory reset, it wouldn't work. We then agreed to send a replacement tablet. When this one shipped I turned it on and it was perfect. Had all the perks I see on the specs. I love how it has PowerPoint, word and sketch. I'm also in love with the gt racing app. The speakers are great compared to my galaxy tab. The graffics are awesome on gaming apps.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I have used the Slate 7 Beats for a couple of weeks now and it is just a wonderful tablet. Browsing, getting apps, and using it for many purposes has shown me that any one wanting a nice tablet should buy this one. Battery life seems very good so far although I need a longer use time to fully confirm that. The stylus works like a charm whether writing or using it as a pointer to apps of settings.
