Disappointment!

I've owned this vacuum for two years. Early on the cheap plastic pieces began breaking and falling off. And I was careful with it! The "chambers of suction" are an absolute JOKE. Chamber 3 gets clogged with dust bunnies immediately and you have to dig them out with a pipe cleaner unless you want them falling out onto your rug at random intervals. I'm kicking myself for not returning it right away. I spent a lot of time researching vacuums to find the best one and figured Hoover would be a good name. This Hoover was a disappointing waste of a lot of hard-earned money. DON'T BUY IT!

Wind Tunnel MAX Bagged Upright

I have used the new vacuum for a week now.  Although it seems quite powerful in some applications (actually lifts the wall-to-wall carpet up to the vacuum if at too low a setting), it fails to pick up small stone fragments or other small but slightly heavier objects when vacuuming hard floor at lowest setting.  Also have to go over some objects on carpeting repetitively to pick all up.  Not crazy about the cheap looking translucent hose or the way the cord wraps up on the device.  (I'm comparing to the Kenmore model I replaced; I refuse to buy another Kenmore because of Sears poor service.)  I do appreciate that the Hoover is considerably lighter than the Kenmore.  The cord is a bit short in length making me unplug and replug more often than preferred.

My Best Vac

I bought this over a year ago but I waited before writing a review.  I wanted to see how it performed over time.  This is a great vac.  It's not overly heavy and it works hard.  It has a long hose that makes doing the stairs a breeze.  Changing the bag is super easy and neat.  I'm so glad I didn't go for the over-priced Dyson Ball!  Now just need a way to stop my Jack Russell Terrier from trying too attack it, I'll be all set!  Thanks, Hoover!

Problematic

This vacuum has presented many problems. It does have very good suction but the belts are frequently burning out, screws come out and the holes they screw into are plastic and break off easily. Many good things about this vacuum for sure, but for us it is constantly needed repair, therefore I cannot recommend.

The Windtunnel Max works great, it has nice features and attachments and good suction power. It replaced my old Hoover Windtunnel and is quieter and seems to have better suction than it's predecessor. I have no complaints except the attachments don't have a designated place to go like my old vacuum did but not a big deal since there are different places to put them on the vacuum. It's worth the money.

My previous machine was getting old and tired, but the difference between it and my Hoover is demonstrably huge. Nothing escapes the suction, not plants, pets, or fabric. If you leave a scarf in the way of the hose attachment, better catch it quick!! I live in an old farmhouse with high ceilings and the attachments are long enough to reach the corners. Outstanding!

Disappiointed

I purchased this model on the recommendation from Consumer Reports and the fact that it was a little lighter than my previous cleaner. The suction power on carpets and with the attachments is very good. However, pushing it around on carpeting is very difficult compared to the Eureka Bravo Boss. It really requires a lot of force just to do the rugs. Overall I feel it is cheaply made and just average overall.

It seems adequate, but I would like a smaller footprint to get around more objects.Changing the carpet height is very difficult.

Does a great job on carpet and bare floors. The suction hose is very powerful for the tight spots which I really like. One negative which was mentioned here by a couple of reviewers. The dirt does build up between the beater bar and the plastic. On occasion, I have to detach the bottom plate and take out the roller to clean out the dirt. Very simple to do though. It might be a design flaw if others have experienced the same thing. Otherwise, the vacuum does the job. Had it now for a year.
