This was a great vacuum for the first 9 or 10 months. Great battery life, decent cleaning, found it's way back to the base consistently. It has a smaller storage bin for debris, but it's kind of fun to empty seeing all the stuff it picks up!
Around 9 or 10 months, it started to not find the dock consistently or to charge even when we placed it on there. I found that if I put a book under it to prop it up it would charge. This makes it a pain, but still functional. I called the customer service and they said clean it. After cleaning it worked for a few days, but then back to the book.
Now after 14 months (out of warranty), it no longer charges. Dead... Sadness...

Official Response by iRobot
Hi Dave, Thanks for sharing your review with us. We understand it's a concerning thing to see your Roomba not working, but don't give up on your Roomba just yet. Roomba's are modular and robust, this makes them simple to repair and we're sure that we can help yours too.
A Roomba that's not charging, particularly in the way you are describing is indicative of interference between the Robot and the base. We know you have tried some steps already, but there are a few others you can try. The first ones are to clean the Metal charging terminals on the bottom of the Robot and on the Home Base. These can gather debris over time that can prevent a full connection during charging. The simple steps to clean are outlined at the first link below.
https://homesupport.irobot.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/528
The second link is a part that can go overlooked but can also interfere with charging. The Front Caster Wheel can gather hair and debris inside and underneath that can also interfere with charging. This link shows how to remove and clean the front wheel.

If these steps do not have your Roomba charging we would recommend reaching out to our Customer Care team for assistance. We are always here to offer support and advice for you. Just because your Warranty has passed doesn't mean our support has.

Almost never completes the job and i do not have a large house. Constantly gets stuck going onto an area rug

Official Response by iRobot
Hi, Thanks for taking time to share your review with us. We understand that it could be concerning to see your Roomba not covering the entire home. The Roomba 675 cleans differently than a person would. Roomba 675 uses iAdapt 1.0 Navigation Technology to utilize a responsive algorithm to navigate the cleaning area. Instead of a systematic cleaning pattern of back and forth, Roomba 675 moves out to clean, and uses feedback from its sensors to calculate and make 60 decisions per second on where and how it should move. The Robot will cover an area, but will do it in its own way. In some larger homes or ones with multiple rooms it may call for a few missions to obtain full coverage rather than one large mission.
You also mentioned it has difficulty with a particular Area Rug. There could be a few potential reasons for this, if the rug were a deep pile rug deeper than 5/8" the Robot may not be able to climb up onto the rug. You many find it more effective to place the Robot in the center of the Rug and activate SPOT mode to clean the rug. We are always here to offer support and advice. We want you to get the best from your Roomba. If you have any questions or need assistance with this behavior you can reach Customer care by phone at 877-855-8593.

I originally bought this because a lot of people recommended it, and as a pet owner with a busy schedule I loved the idea of being able to have a vacuum clean for me while I do other things around the house. However, this thing barely cleans. I will let it run for the full time (before it decides it completed the job and returns to the charging station) and there are still crumbs and cat hair everywhere. Not to mention it is constantly getting stuck and sucking up things it shouldn't be (toys, cat collars, clothes). I would not recommend this, total waste of money. Just get a regular handheld vacuum.

It is not perfect, but no robot can be. There are certain spots it is just not going to reach. There'll be some missed debris. For that, I get out the regular vacuum. I am amazed at how much dirt it picks up every day, This is dirt that we had been grinding into the floor. It was a gift, and I thoughtI would not like it. I love it. The dogs are adjusting

I've had Robbie for over a year now. I bought him on a whim when I noticed him on the clearance rack of a local big box. Must have been an unopened return of an item they normally didn't sell at that branch. I'd been aware of these, but the price kept them kind of low on my priority list. Now I don't think I'll ever be without one. One person, no pets, one floor home with mostly carpet and tile floors. I have him set to run twice a week. I do have to remember to pick up anything that he might get tangled in, but that's actually OK. I have a couple of pieces of furniture that sit at just the right height that he occasionally gets wedged under and can't get out, but that's my only problem. I get that this model doesn't have the advanced features of the higher end ones, but I'm super satisfied for what I paid. That said, I will eventually trade up!

So simple and easy to use. Quick charge and Pumbaa was ready to go. I thought our floors were pretty clean, but the first time she ran she found 84 dirt spots! After less than a week of running every day she was down to 5. Requires no help. I tell the app to get it started and walk away. Does seem to have some trouble finding the base sometimes.

Just think the app is a waste of phone resources. Doesn't tell you anything about the machine, e.g. battery level, bin getting full, can't diagnose a problem. Of course, irobot does get all your private info.

Spends 15 minutes in a small bathroom,, 2 minutes in large rooms. I have two area rugs. The roomba discards a lot of the hair it picked up on the rug. Had to return one for repair because the side sweeper wouldn't work. Received a new one and not sure why, but this one works worse than the other one.
