I just got my tripod recently, fits the camera great. for some reason i thought it would be a little bigger, I wish i could add additional balls to make it taller. Also, this is a very expensive product I wanted to buy it from Joby and not a knock off to make sure it was very durable and would hold my camera which it does. The packaging it comes with is so cheap looking it gives the wrong impression.

I always wanted to order a tripod. But a stiff tripod wont do. I been reseaching the joby gorilla tripods. The hybrid job tripod was the best fit for me because of its size and it can hold a point and shoot camera. You can wrap the tripod everywhere with a smartphone adapter. Having the tripod makes it not shaky when filming. I have an olloclip fisheyes and it always have sounds of it shaking in the video. However when i attached the tripod on the sound went away! It gives a more smoother feeling in your videos. The tripod could attached to many things adding more angles and making it more versatile. When i first order it i kept bringing it whereever i go just to test it out.

The Hybrid works well with my small camera; there has been no instance where the tripod does not conform to a particular platform.

Loved the Hybrid forn my travel cam, the EOS M. Made some of my best pics with it. Unfortunatly after about a year of light use the ring around the "clutch" for the balls start to crack, making it useless and dangarous for your equippment. Exactly the same happened to my brothers he used with his A6000. Would love to pay more for a metal version that is not a through away consumable. Still 3 stars for the awesome initial function though

Ball and socket construction holds its own. Flexibility out in the field is very nice. Size and weight work. Only flaw - construction design places either the thumb or index finger of either hand in the center of the bulb each time the lever is pressed to remove camera.

I started using this tripod one year ago and since then it has been my perfect travel companion. I had an Olympus E-PM2 and it fits perfectly. I used it in every situation: gripped to a branch, to a pole, to a rearview mirror... always excellent and useful. It couldn't substitute entirely a heavy full-height tripod but, especially when the weight is critical, GorillaPod+Pole or +Tree it is a valid alternative. During this year I never reported a loss of grip in the spherical joints nor in the head (which is not a Ballhead in Hybrid version) also when used with 40-150mm (about 250g). The only little complaint is about the screw. You need always a money with you to fix the clip to the camera. However, not a big deal...

I use this when broadcasting live via my iPhone on Hangwith.com - it's great for filming from the golf cart or for use in the car while driving down the road. I have to admit I take it everywhere to use it with my GoPro, Canon point and shoot, Canon T3i, and by iPhone 6+.

PROS: (1) Long life span. I bought my GorillaPod Hybrid two years ago and I use it always, and it still works perfectly. (2) Useful. When I need a tripod it would suffice about 80% of the time (20% I need a normal tripod). (3) Mobile. It is small, lightweight and always with you. Can be hung off a bag, wrapped around a strap, can fit anywhere, good for outdoors and travel. (4) Built like a tank. It has been thrown, dropped, stuffed and crushed in luggage, and used underwater (just rinse well and dry after). (5) Versatile. I can attach/perch it on anything: poles, on top of rocks, trees, a crevice, a crack, a makeshift tripod out of branches, I can attach it even with just one arm. (6) Stable and rock solid. Perfect for night/lowlight/timelapse photography. I know Joby rates the Hybrid at 1kg, but it can handle a little bit more (you can feel it anyways when you reach the product limit). (7) Multipurpose. It is not just a camera tripod, it can accept/hold flashes, microphones, mobile phones, headlamps, flashlights, etc. I've even used it as a makeshift underwater camera rig to hold my underwater camera and strobes (photo ball clamps can attach to the end of the GorillaPod arms and use the other arms as handles). (8) Easy to use. Well thought out and just smooth to use. (9) Attention. It gets the girls and then some. A lot ask about it and where to get it when they see it in action. CONS: (1) Compared to a normal tripod it lacks the height. Sometimes there really isn't anything good to attach it to, to get the shot you want. It is a design trade-off, use a normal tripod in such cases. (2) You will look stupid when looking for things or finding ways to attach your GorillaPod to get the shots you want (think moving a dumpster to perch your camera on). You really need to think creatively, fun but at times frustrating. Again, a trade-off, happy to live with it. (3) Video panning or panorama is difficult as it is hard to level the 360 swivel horizontal, sometimes you really can't angle it given the perch (but works well for stills).

I bought this over a year ago and it worked very well until I lost the clip. Additional clips are listed as available in a "two pack", but have been out of stock (on back order) since July (it is now Oct 25), therefore the product is totally USELESS. Since you cannot supply the accessories in a timely manner, I would need to rate this product with only 1 star.
