JVC Everio GZ-HD5 High Definition Camcorder The GZ-HD5 comes supplied with a full set of Windows applications for editing and authoring to DVD and Blu-ray disc, as well as plug-in software to facilitate data import into various Macintosh applications. And to make it easy to share and archive recordings.
Features:
1080/60P Output
Using the same technology as GENESSA HD displays, this world's first for camcorders outputs a 1080 scanning line image at progressive 60fps so you can enjoy uncompromising picture quality on a TV that accepts 1080P input. With progressive, the jaggy diagonals you'd get with interlace images are smoothed out.
FUJINON HD Lens
HD Everio utilizes a lens designed for high definition by FUJINON. FUJINON is the leader in professional camera lenses for live HD images. This lens features 3 aspherical elements and provides nearly the same brightness (F1.8-1.9) throughout its entire zoom range.
Zoom Ratio | F Stop | Focal Length |
Optical 10x/Digital 200x | F1.8 - F1.9 | F= 3.3mm - 33mm |
Three 1/5" Progressive Scan CCDs
For bright, realistic colors the HD Everio uses three 1/5-inch CCDs - one each for red, green and blue. Naturally, by having dedicated CCDs for each primary color, the camera is able to gather the maximum visual information which leads to more realistic color reproduction and presence.
Pixel-Shift Technology
Using Pixel Shift Technology, the Red and Blue pixel locations are shifted relative to Green, allowing the sampled color information to be quadrupled through interpolation.
Optical Image Stabilization (OIS)
To preserve the Full HD quality, HD Everio features optical image stabilization, avoiding the signal degradation caused by electronic image stabilization, which might be particularly noticeable in HD footage.
HD Recording
HDMI (V.1.3 with x.v.Color)
The output signal features a wider color space through application of the xvYCC color standard, known as x.v.Color. This universal standard provides more accurate color reproduction with more detail and more shades. Among the colors that the human eye is capable of perceiving, x.v.Color can display 100% of them whereas the traditional (sRGB) system can only display approx. 55%.

26Mbps High Bit Rate Recording
In the FHD mode, video is recorded at a high bit rate of 26.6 Mbps average. Compared to other systems using a lower bit rate, the resulting image offers higher quality with clearer visible details.
HD Gigabrid Engine for Optimum Full HD Images
JVC's HD Gigabrid video engine, which processes in full 1920x1080 progressive video, is the result of years of experience in signal-processing technology, and uses five digital noise-reduction algorithms as well as signal processing to improve vertical scan resolution by approx. 30% over JVC's previous interlace technology for an extremely clear and sharp image.
Full HD 1920x1080 Recording
In the FHD mode, video is recorded at a high bit rate of 26.6 Mbps average. Compared to other systems using a lower bit rate, the resulting image offers higher quality with clearer visible details.
