...to say the Logitech X-540's are 'outstanding speakers' is like calling a Ferrari a 'good car.' A grand total of eleven speakers can generate stunning sounds from gaming and music--even on computers not equipped with a sound card. I did a lot of shopping around for computer speakers--I knew that the generic, simplistic (and most common) two-speaker arrangements on the market these days would not cut it. For the money (and also, the quality), I challenge anyone to find a better deal the Logitech X-540's. I enjoy my original set so much that I bought another set for a second computer that I have, and a third set for a friend of mine as a gift. Neither of us have encountered ANY problems with any of the sytems we have. Impeccable sound; great price; perfection in their functionality; reliably consistent performance; rugged and stylish design. I couldn't ask for much more.

For the money you can not go wrong, very nice sound for all types of music. Work very well for movies and gaming too. Like I said for the money you can't beat em.

I'm disappointed with these speakers after buying them with my new HP system. The rear speakers are corded, but SHOULD be wireless, which is something I didn't think about when purchasing. Who wants cords stretching backward to the rear speakers from your computer.. BAD design, but maybe they ALL do that.. Think very seriously about that before choosing or purchasing a surround speaker system...

I could not believe that these small speakers could generate such a wonderful sound. You could not go wrong buying these for under $100. On a lot of occasions I will crank up the tunes on my PC using these speakers instead of turning on my expensive home entertainment system sacrificing very little quality. You will be satisfied with the price and the quality of sound you get from this system.

The speakers themselves offer simple surround sound however they will peak about 60% volume on certain frequencies. Any bright classical piano pieces have the speakers vibrating and buzzing. BUT for most other music and sound these speakers do a fine job. The sub woofer could be better. For the price these speakers do the job but don't expect them to drive sound for a whole room or a party type scenario. They are simply not that strong.

I'm a bit disappointed in the "surround sound". Anyways for 75 bucks it's average. I don't think I would pay a penny more than that excluding tax etc. If you're into trance, techno, house music get a better 5.1 with a bigger sub. I put it to the highest setting and I can barely hear it. It goes poof poof poof rather than thump thump thump. Anyways I miss my old sub already. Overall I give this a 3/5.

Very impressed with sound and quality. Unfortunately I did not have the sound card to support system, but son is definately enjoying it with his Xbox and iPOD. Lots of wires to plug in and tehy could have made them a bit longer, but overall good product.
