The MBUS 3 isn't just an incremental update. The MBUS 3 Front Sight (MAG1166) introduces two features previously exclusive to the significantly more expensive MBUS Pro: tool-less elevation adjustment and a dual-width enhanced front sight post. The front post offers two widths in one — a 0.06-inch Standard width for maximum visibility and fast target acquisition, and a 0.04-inch Match width for increased precision at distance. Switch between them without tools. Elevation clicks adjust at approximately 1 MOA per click with a 14.5-inch sight radius and 0.7 MOA per click with a 20-inch radius. When stowed, the front sight sits at just 0.47 inches above the rail and 1.38 inches at its widest point — dramatically smaller than the MBUS Gen 2's 0.51-inch height and 2.6-inch length.

The MBUS 3 Rear Sight (MAG1167) features a rapid-select rotating aperture system that lets you switch between a wide aperture (for close-range and low-light shooting) and a narrow aperture (for precision at distance) with a quick rotation — faster and more intuitive than the flip-style dual aperture on the MBUS Gen 2. Tool-less windage adjustment provides approximately 0.5 MOA per click at a 14.5-inch sight radius and 0.4 MOA per click at a 20-inch radius. When stowed, the rear sight sits at just 0.55 inches above the rail and 1.38 inches wide. Center of aperture to the top of rail measures 1.41 inches — standard AR sight height for universal co-witness compatibility with red dot optics.

Both sights deploy instantly via ambidextrous push-button activation — the same proven spring-loaded mechanism from the original MBUS, refined for the MBUS 3's smaller form factor.
