Story of Inside GL Design
Many customers asked us to add a GL beam to the Odin, and we decided to meet their needs. We had two options, place the emitter outside the head or integrate it on the inside. The outside emitter is much easier, but it compromises the minimalist design of the Odin Series. So, we turned to the inside emitter design instead, which makes the product look simple and balanced, reduces size and weight, and keeps everything well-protected. But challenges followed. The head only has a 29mm diameter. Our engineers had to make use of every millimeter of the internal space to put the module inside. After months of simulation and revision, we finally turned our drawings into a prototype. But it still had many drawbacks, especially the clumsy head ring. The Odin GL M uses a magnetic head ring and Hall sensor instead of the traditional mechanical switch. When you turn the ring, the magnetic field changes. The Hall sensor recognizes that change and sends the corresponding command to the LED. But this structure also requires the magnetic field to be precisely controlled. After countless tests and adjustments, we finally made it right. Now, one year has passed and we finally have the Odin GL M for our customers.
