Progressive Scan DVD Recorder with VHS VCR, Digital Tuner, 1080p Up-Conversion, HDMI Simple Connection, VIERALink, SD Memory Card Slot, USB Terminal and Super Multi-Format Recording & Playback

 **OPEN BOX**

 1080p Up-Conversion
By interpolating video data using proprietary algorithms, SD format data is up-converted to 1080 x 1920p HD format video data. This conversion increases the richness of the original data by almost six fold, producing the highest possible image quality when viewing content on a large-screen HDTV.

 Digital Tuner Capable
The high-performance hybrid digital tuner is capable of receiving both digital and analog broadcasts. And even when digital signals drop out because of interference with direct signal access, which makes the picture either disappear or become filled with block noise, the Digital Tuner still produces a beautiful picture.

 Easy Operation with VIERALink
Connect your Panasonic DVD recorder to your VIERA flat-panel HDTV via an HDMI cable, and the TV channel setting information is automatically downloaded to the recorder. Once the Auto Preset Download is complete, the DVD recorder will keep whichever TV channel you're watching as its receiving channel. This means you can record the program you're watching by just pressing the Record button on the VIERA remote. With VIERALink, you don't have to worry about setting the recorder to the right channel every time you want to record something.

 Expansion of Usages
The Panasonic DMR-EZ48VK DVD recorder is equipped with an SD Memory Card slot and USB terminal, which makes it easy to view photos from your digital camera. Just slip the SD card into the slot or use the cable to connect the camera to the USB terminal, and you're ready to enjoy a spectacular big-screen slideshow with family and friends. You can even listen to music recorded onto a USB device while viewing your photos.

 Universal Design
All of our DVD recorder models are designed in compliance with Panasonic's Universal Design principles. Frequently used buttons (Power, Open/Close) are located at the top of the main unit to make them easier to see when the unit is placed in a rack and you need to look down when operating it. Both the remote control and graphical user interface (GUI) were designed for easy use by everyone, based on the results of a Panasonic survey.

Pros: Easy To Set Up, Compact, Easy To Use, Excellent User Interface, Consistent Performance, High Quality Picture, Attractive Design Cons: Must be OFF to Record Other thoughts: Panasonic CD,DVD,VCR players and recorders have the best user interface and the best features available. I have had two other Panasonic analog recorders that were excellent. They would record scheduled programs from a Power ON or OFF status. Unfortunately, Panasonic has now decided that all of its recorders must be in a Power OFF state to initiate a Scheduled Recording. This is very annoying when you wish to watch a previusly recorded program at the time a Scheduled Recording begins. It forces the you to interrupt your playback, turn the unit off, allow the recording to begin, then turn it back on, and start your playback again, from the beginning! So Panasonic has taken a giant step backward into the old VCR Recorder days! I am very disappointed with this restriction, but I am pleased with the unit otherwise, because it is still the best product available.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Pros: Attractive Design Cons: Slow To Load Other thoughts: If you need something to play VHS (or want to copy your VHS tapes to DVD), this is about the only combo game in town. Remote is somewhat cluttered, partly because it has to handle the two formats. DVD recording and upconversion of broadcast TV is not quite as good as with my Toshiba DVD recorder.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

The Best

Pros: Attractive Design, Easy To Use, Consistent Performance, High Quality Picture, Easy To Set Up Cons: Other thoughts: I have had the non-HD model of this DVD-VCR combo for over 2 years (3 of them) and loved them as much as I love this model. Use it for recording TV from cable and daytime travel shows to view in the evening. Also use it for copying my old VHS tv recordings to DVD and it produces a better picture on the DVD than the original on VHS. Can't rate this item too high -- it is great!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Pros: Attractive Design Cons: Slow To Load Other thoughts: Product freezes up too often and has to be reset and this doesn't always work the first try. Best feature is the internal battery that holds my pre-programs for days during power outages which occur sometimes in my area.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
