Overall a great system, my only gripe is the lack of listening mode options, there are only 3. I purchased the HW-N950 because there are two additional rear speakers, unlike most other soundbar systems. Problem is, there is no "stereo" listening mode to get the full range of sound to fire from the rear speakers. For example, when watching the news, I want the vocals to also come from the rear. Not going to happen with this system!!! Such a simple feature wouldn't take much more work from their software engineers. Thinking of returning it and getting a traditional AV receiver that doesn't short-change me on the listening modes.

I purchased HW-N850 Sept 24 and I can say I'm happy with my purchase. I have the soundbar connected to my 2015 JS8500 through ARC and my Apple 4k Tv and Sony 4k blu Ray player. I had the Xbox one X connected but opted for Sony player. The sound from his is amazing and subwoofer packs a mighty punch. I have no issues in sound department. I do have tv sound and Xbox one X runnng optical. Let me tell you the bad and good with this product. Only two hdmi ports and for this price at least 3. I was force to choose between Xbox, Apple 4k and Sony 4k player. Xbox got hammer because I have Atmos through headphones as a work around on Xbox. My second issue is no calibration available at this price point. My third issue sound tuns off after several mins of inactivity. This is way to short. Maybe an hour or having options available. Lastly I cannot purchase n950 rear Atmos speakers. The initial cost is too high. Sonos allows you to purchase rear speakers for their system. Samsung can do better. Overall I'm keeping soundbar because of dts x, Atmos, Harman Kardon. Samsung withheld so 4 stars out of 5.

Unfortunately it does not connect to WiFi even through smartthings, even though they adverstise as such. Samsung support has given multiple excuses why it doesn't work but no resolution. I know it's not my soundbar because I exchanged it and the new one does the exact same thing.

I love the sound from this soundbar. The bass is enough to rumble my large living room. The sound takes over the room and sounds great from high to mid to low. Listening to the T-Rex scene from Jurassic Park on Netflix on level 40 (out of 100 I think) was amazing, from the rain to the roars. It really made you feel like you were in the movie. This is, of course, not as nice as a true dedicated setup, but it sounds fantastic and doesn't leave you with wires all over the place. For me, it paired with the sub automatically without issue, and I was able to download the app and connect with seemingly no issues as well. My ONLY complaint is that there seems to be no way to tell what signal is being processed by the soundbar. It doesn't seem to display it anywhere, there are apparently no LEDs, and it's not even on the app. This all seems rather strange to me, as I assume most will want to know if true Atmos signal is being sent to it or whatever. I am curious myself if I am sending it atmos or 5.1...but like I said, I cannot tell from the soundbar or the app. Maybe this can be fixed in the app. Anyways, the sound outweighs that issue. I love a true surround setup best for sure, but this is REALLY nice if you are wanting an easy setup of something that sounds spectacular. Your friends will be impressed!

I've been using the sound bar for a week now and I'm ready to give it an honest review. The N850 is just plain amazing. Dialog is crystal clear at all times and the syncs great with the other channels during action scenes. After apples update I was able to send Atmos and all I have to say is the I wish every program was in that format. It blew me away! I can go on and on about how much I enjoy this thing but I won't bore you. Now I have a few cons. I wish the add on rear speaker kit was the same one as the N950 and not the wired one, I just didn't want to shell out $400 for rear speakers. Second, only Dolby Atmos is displayed when it's on, I wish there was away to see what ever format was being used. I'm hoping future updates might change this. But overall I'm very please with my purchase.

I purchased the long awaited HW-N950 sound bar as soon as it was available and I have to say I am very happy with it. It is definitely addicting and I look forward to come home to watch movies/series for an immersive sound experience. Samsung has definitely step it up with Harman/Kardon now part of the family. Dialogue/speech are crystal clear even during scene with lots of dynamic such as explosions and/or loud background music. Movies like Jurassic World definitely make you feel like you're in a theater with the up firing channels and rear speakers as well as the sub-woofer shaking the couch. Even TV series on HBO gave me goose bumps and jump from unsuspecting ghost/demonic voices that came out of nowhere. The sounds are so realistic that my dogs keep barking each time a door bell ring in a movie/TV scene. They have never done that before with my previous sound bar. Last but not least, the sound bar is able to get loud even on low settings especially at night. I had to turn the volume down below 10 while watching Jurassic World to test it out. Overall, it is the best Atmos/DTS:X sound bar out there that you'll find. There is no competitor. I definitely recommend if you want to get a real home theater experience if you're looking for a simplistic look without the hassles of running speaker wires all over your house. It is definitely an elegant system that is powerful enough to rattle your windows but so clear that you're able to hear whispers in quiet scene.

I am a huge fan of Harman and Kardon. It is amazing to know that Samsung and H&K made a partnership together to release an amazing soundbar. Hooray! It will never disappoint. Expertise (H&K) plus innovation (Samsung). This is a bomb!
