    I bought this setup 2 weeks ago, soundbar works like it is supposed to. Subwoofer will connnect sometimes, then sometimes it wont...bass is fine when it actually works. i have the additional satellite speaker setup as well, and it connects fine. subwoofer could use some major work. its about 5 feet from the tv and soundbar so i know its not to far away, as it is now i would not recommend this product, i am actually thinking of just going bavk to my lg soundbar and sub as i never had a problem with it...would not recommmend....

    For the price this is a decent setup. I'm a "normal" person who appreciates good sound, but far (far) from a die hard enthusiast. The bass is perfectly acceptable and things are clear. It's an obvious step up from the TVs built in speakers. Lack of HDMI connectivity might be a big deal for some--it really should have one. Things work fine with the optical. Given it's price point the thing is fine.

    First and foremost, I do not own a Samsung TV. This review will based solely on the performance as a standalone unit, connected via optical input. It works fine, just unspectacular. It does everything pretty well, just not great. Highs and voices are goo, not great. Bass is good, not great. For a TV it is an improvement, for Bluetooth music these deficiencies really show up. A cheap Bluetooth speaker sounds as good. I am not using this as my sole source, so that is ok with me. I think if I had the ability to pair two sub-woofers it would help, but I don't think I can. I may not want to risk it even if I could, due to the anticipated expense. But, I really think that would help. I had really high hopes for this soundbar based on reviews, and again it it is not bad. But middle of the road is where I would say it is. I have tried every sound adjustment, and the SMART sounds best. For the price, I expected more. I like it, I just wouldn't buy it again.

Press the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then select your desired sound effect: STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, or SMART. You can further adjust TREBLE and BASS via the SOUND CONTROL button (looks like a gear symbol). Or increase/decrease subwoofer output by toggling the WOOFER button on the remote. In addition, please check the placement of the soundbar as it has come to our attention that some customers are positioning it incorrectly, which will affect audio performance. The SAMSUNG logo should be facing up towards the ceiling. If the SAMSUNG logo is perpendicular to the floor (facing you when seated), with the unit resting on the speakers, sound will be muffled.     Poorly integrates with Samsung TV

    I've had this for two months and I don't reccomend it. The sound bar is a couple mm too tall to fit under my 55" Samsung TV, so it has to sit in front on my TV stand. This blocks the IR receiver on the TV so I have to lift my TV remote control all the way above my head and angle it down to get the TV to respond. Very annoying. The connection with the TV is not great. Originally I used HDMI but then got the optical cable. Both ways the sound bar sometimes doesn't sync properly and I often get a slight delay where the sound track gets offset from the video. It's hard to believe the soundbar and the TV were designed by the same company. They seem barely compatible. Very dissatisfied. DO NOT BUY.

    Basic Soundbar with basic feature

    When we watch content with dialogs it is hard to hear within 5 feet away from soundbar, had to increase volume from 20 to 35. When music is playing then have to reduce value to 15. We bought it because we could get good movie experience. DRC is on with sound mode set to Smart

DRC lets you apply dynamic range control to Dolby Digital tracks. With DRC turned on, loud sounds will be reduced. Please follow these steps: 1) Turn off your soundbar 2) While the soundbar is off, press and hold the SOUND MODE button on the remote control for 6 seconds until you see “DRC ON” shown on the display. If you should wish to turn off DRC later, just repeat steps 1 and 2 above. You might also want to try SMART Mode, which automatically analyzes content and optimizes sound settings for the best experience.     The sound is good but the volume lacks in that it doesn't really play very loud even at max volume. The bass is lacking. It doesn't deliver the full deep bass again, even at max. Having said that, it is a good upgrade to TV speakers and does produce nice sound and can't really expect more than this at this price point. From the extensive research I did it came out as the best option and I'm not disappointed. Couldn't connect it to an old Sony TV and chat support was useless. Disappointing as I like and buy Samsung products phones etc. I don't like the fact that if the BT is on on my computer and I start it up while I'm watching TV it switches to BT mode automatically and I have to switch it back to the TV. 4 sound modes with no explanation of what they do or are best for.

    Got this about month ago. Extremely easy to set up. Improved sound about 90 %. Was able to sync with direct tv remote with no effort. Am very happy with this soundbar!!!
