Unfortunately, monitor screen came with a blotched spot out of the box.
I reached out to Samsung customer support to request a replacement (within 5 days, as per their policy) - as should be reasonable for a recently bought defective monitor. They told me that I was not eligible for a replacement monitor, but I could return it for a refund and then re-purchase it again. However since the original deal was no longer available, I would have to pay MORE just to repurchase the same exact monitor. I don't understand why they could not simply replace the defective monitor that I literally just bought.
I am frustrated that I even received a defective monitor, and even more disappointed that they could not offer me a replacement, or at least allow me to re-purchase the same monitor for the same price I just bought it for.
** TLDR: Got this monitor for a good deal, but beware of quality assurance (doing a quick search will show other bad first-hand accounts). Going forward, I don't think I can trust or recommend Samsung, especially after this customer service experience. Can't believe I would have to pay more just to replace this monitor that should't have come with a defect in the first place. Very disappointing.

I wanted to love the Samsung 49" OLED G9 — and in some ways, I do. The screen size is incredible, and when it works, the picture is absolutely gorgeous. But that's where the praise ends.
This monitor is far too bloated for its own good. The UI is cluttered and unintuitive, and the pre-installed apps make it feel more like a smart TV than a high-end monitor. Connecting a PC or MacBook is way harder than it should be — you end up fighting the software just to tell it, "Hey, I just want to use this as a monitor." Plug & play isnt a thing. Just a FYI - im using a 8k(60hz) 4k(240hzz) display port and it still only wants to connect to my laptop 50% of the time.
Samsung provides guides for remote PC access, but that introduces noticeable input lag, which defeats the purpose entirely. I didn't buy this thing to stream my PC over Wi-Fi — I bought it to plug in and go.
For something that's supposed to be a monitor, it fails at its most basic job because of overly complex software and unnecessary features. It's a stunning display trapped inside a frustrating experience. I want to love it. But when it can do its basic function... It doesnt deserve more than 1 star.

I tend to use my Samsung monitor as my primary laptop display whenever I am in my room that is for video streaming, watching movies, playing games, school work, computer aided design and so on.
The shift from my 1080p60hz laptop screen to this 4k165hz screen was as light and day as it could have been. Not only has it made my whole video watching experience a much better one but my gaming prowess has also improved a little bit.
While i was a big fan of the infinity core lighting at first, i came to realize that the Core sync function was not as accurate as it could have been and essentially only changed its brightness which did not mimic the environment on screen that well. But regardless it is good enough.
The wobbling of the screen is also a mild inconvenience especially since it doesn't take much movement to cause it to wobble.
All in all, a great addition to my Samsung ecosystem.
