I have a number of the T5 drives, so I bought one of these T7 shields to be more portable and safer outdoors. Though I haven't really experienced any issues with the t5's outdoors I never really push them to the weather extremes. The t7 Shield feels like nothing is going to damage it it just gives you that satisfaction in your hand when you feel that rubber sleeve around it they both adds grip because of the grooves as well as padding. When you place down the t5s or the other SDS in this line you usually feel that metal scrape against harder surfaces that are not polished. But the T7 sheild doesn't have this issue. I would replace all my T5s with t7 Shields if I could go back. I also love how small it is even a slightly bulkier than the T5 I can slide it into my pocket and forget about it the soft grip of the t7 shield padding actually keeps it in your pocket instead of falling out like the smooth T5 metal. Performance wise it's great I've not had any issues with any of these Samsung portable ssds, the t7 Shield is extremely fast and works on everything Plug and Play including my Android devices and all of my computers and laptops. If you experience any speed issues just make sure to check your actual device USB version or the cable you use... These devices work just as they are rated. I highly recommend them for transferring things between devices or content creation storage. These devices, (because they're so small) can be clipped onto the backs of phones with the proper adapters that you can find elsewhere.

Absolutely amazing storage device for my photos! Everything worked out the box, no setup necessary, and samsung magician is great for seeing the health of the device. Only gripe is the USB-C connector is loose with most cables, and you need specific cables to have it locked in well.
