i was really happy with the laptop (it's super light and fast, great screen too) until the battery died after just two years of relatively light usage

It is advertised as chargeable with an external battery pack. Samsung advises something above 10W (unsurprisingly). But if you try and plug in, say, a 30W pack, you receive a warning NOT to plug in anything greater than 10W. Tech support was completely unhelpful; had no idea what was going on; and was convinced there must not be a problem because no one reported it yet. (How's that for logic??). This was the main reason I purchased it. And I can't use an external battery. (Nevermind that the laptop image on the website above shows it plugged into a battery pack for cell phones.....).

An amazing laptop that I ever bought in 5 years. It is light. the charger is small. It has 16GB RAM and a graphics card. FHD is what I wanted at first place. Windows just not look good in 4K displays, that is why I prefer FHD. Slim chassis. I do not understand how come such a good product is not popular.

We have 3 Samsung laptops. I usually take this model for my business travel. It is very light and small compared with other laptops. I like battery life(good enough for 4 hrs flight or longer). Plenty of 16GB, 256SSD, good performance of CPU i7-8th, dedicate Graphic card with light laptop. However, I found a crack on the cover. The crack is next to hinge of back top cover. It is not acceptable for a laptop plastic cover has crack. I have owned many laptops in my life, I have never seen a crack outside. There was no drop or sudden impact. I carried in my laptop backpack. I have no clue how this happened and It is very doubtful about mechanical strength of this laptop. It is not durable laptop. I reconsider now for traveler laptop. If there is a dent, I might understand it. But plastic crack on cover is not acceptable with high-end laptop. Only customer care contact is available during Mon-Friday business hour. I will update later after contact how to get it fixed.

I do not have a proper scale in stars for this laptop because my complaint with this thing is very different. Bought this laptop just 2 months ago and I loved it. Very light, No performance issues, really good battery life, excellent display. Trackpad feels nice. Typing on this thing is decent. Basically everything I needed. No compromises in the internals I loved that. you get what you see and this thing is a beast. However, the build quality of this laptop is kind of questionable. The laptop feels very sturdy dont get me wrong but the hinge is kind of weird for the lack of a better word. For example, if you lift it too fast (you are bound to do this a couple times because of how ridiculously light weight this laptop is) the screen just pulls itself all the way back and hits the 180 degree angle with force. Which really is not a big deal but you need to be careful with it. Maybe its just the one I got. secondly, and my biggest problem with this laptop is the paint job. It has barely been 2 months and the paint has started coming off the edges. The edges are not that sharp but still i have no idea why that is happening. for the $1300 plus I paid for this thing I feel that is unacceptable. This is a big no no for me mainly because I plan on using this laptop for a really long time. If just 2 months of use later I find signs of wear thats a big deal for me. I do not want my laptop to be in and out of a workshop just because the paint job is coming off. I keep my laptop with great care as well. I have a skin on it (which was really difficult to find because no one makes skins for this laptop) and I always work on a table. It might sound a bit nit picky but the paint job coming off I did not see coming and longevity on my device really means a lot to me. If the paint job cannot stand two months of use I cannot even begin to imagine whats gonna happen in just 6 months. Also, because of this issue I cannot get a refund. The return period was just 15 days. Which i feel is a little unfair because I could not have seen this issue come up in 15 days. I am not asking for a refund after a year or six months it has just been two months. Customer service offered me talking with the maintenance department but that is not a solution to my problem. After a long chat with three different reps I could not get them to reconsider the policy. Lastly, I have had 3 BSODs since I got this while updating drivers. I have lost important homework files because of that Is tarted keeping backups after the first time. In the end I just stopped updating drivers. Again, not a solution but I apparently have to deal with that. I would personally not recommend this laptop. If you are really really really cautious with your stuff maybe this will work out for you otherwise just stick to a surface book or dell xps 13 or 15. TLDR: paint started coming off in 2 months, cant get a refund because the refund period is just 15 days. Internals are excellent but with a very big trade off. Would not recommend

pros 1) Light! (light weight is why i bought it, i travel a lot) 2) 15 in screen is great 3) screen color accuracy 4) a video card (put a mobile gpu with more power plz) 5) Ram and Cpu (fast) 6) Battery life (thank you) 7) Thin (fits nicely in backpacks) 8) lay flat screen (i use this more than i thought) 9) big track pad 10) screen quality 11) thunderbolt! cons 1) get rid of the barrel charger. (make ever usb-c charger capable) 2) more usb-c 3) speakers. (Hardly audible, cant even watch movie with friend) 4) too easy to show scratches and wear on body 5) keyboard. too mushy. cant type fast 6) offer a dark color (like charcoal or black) 7) screen resolution (something higher than 1080 would be nice) 8) bezels (we can do better, Get rid of the Jezebels) 9) storage, (512 should be standard) 10) keyboard color (green? i never turn it on because of this, make it white next time) 11) charger (put a cord on the other side of the brick, you know how hard it is to travel and use adapters with a giant brink to put in the wall) keep the 15in laptop under around 1 kg 2.2isb lbs and ill keep buying them

After much research, I've decided to buy the 15" Samsung Notebook 9 for my business. This model is fast, super light, and has amazing, crisp resolution. I'm very impressed with the long battery life and security features. It's also nice to sync my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to my laptop. This is a great laptop for business use. Although this is a pricey laptop, I feel it's still an overall excellent value.

Had this thing 2 days. Already wanted to write a review: It is light! and small for a 15 inch. Battery life: excellent! about 10hrs web and word editing. The Chassis is made out of plastic but super light. I wonder if it will show wear for long term use though.
