This trimmer falls right in between not powerful enough and reasonably light. It's the constant struggle with battery power tools that to have more power you need a bigger battery, but a bigger battery generally means the tools is heavier. I could relatively easily use the tool one-handed to reach towards the back of the bush in front of my house, though not for super long. That said, I wish that the tool was simply longer so I didn't have to wield it one handed like a 3 Musketeer wields their sword. That of course goes back to the overall weight and power of the trimmer. I think for some people this tool is going to hit a sweet spot. Not too heavy, reasonable power and length to hit bushes and such that they can walk around so they don't have to worry about it's diminutive blade length. For me... well it does the job. Not terribly quickly but good enough. Considering its price and how long the battery lasts (barely put a dent in the charge after trimming the bush in front of my house) I think this is a really good value.

This Sun Joe hedge trimmer was perfect for the bushes we have in our front yard. Both my husband and I do the yard work. We take turns, and this was my first time trimming the bushes myself. Gotta say, I didn't think it was going to be this easy, but it was. It is lightweight so I was able to maneuver it pretty well and shape up my front bushes well. Best of all it's cordless! Overall, great hedge trimmer!

This trimmer is very lightweight, which is great when you have a lot of bushes to get through. Giving it four stars due to a lack of power. The product doesn't cut the bushes very easily because it's not strong enough. It takes a few runs before the bushes are cut.

These are very awesome hedge trimmers. I highly recommend these for anyone in the market for a good cheap set of trimmers. They seem to hold a charge very well and work like a champ. You will not be disappointed

The Sun Joe cordless hedge trimmer has a 250 watt motor, 18 inch blade, cutting diameter of .55, steel blades and uses a 24 volt battery. The battery fully charges within 1 hour 20 minutes and yields a runtime maximum of 35 minutes. I absolutely love that the hedge trimmer is cordless so there are no cords to trip over or move qhile trimming which makes one of my least favorite yard duties a breeze! The hedge trimmer is very lightweight and portable making trimming hedges and shrubs so easy. I can easily use this trimmer and the blades are quiet and make for uniform cutting just as nice as if I had my hedges professionally done. I am so happy with the Sun Joe hedge trimmer that I will look at other products as the battery is compatible with 50 plus Sun Joe tools. This hedge trimmer would make for a wonderful housewarming gift as it is so useful, practical and does an amazing job. I am so glad that I now have this handy hedge trimmer for my home!

This SunJoe cordless handheld hedge trimmer is awesome. I am petite and it was easy for me to carry, hold and use! I have cut through power cords with other hedge trimmers so this is a life saver (literally) that it does not have a cord. The battery lasts long enough for me to use several times. My hedges look awesome!

I have a very large yard with a lot of landscaping and this trimmer is wonderful! I love that this is cordless so I don't have to drag around an extension cord. This is a well made quality item and the battery holds charge well too.

This hedge trimmer is perfect for those who want to get work done without the struggle of going for gas every time they run out. It powers through those little branches of bushes and shrubbery like butter, and the battery charges back up pretty quick, too! Would recommend for anyone that prefers battery powered tools over gas or plug-in.

I have been using electric hedge trimmers for as long as I can remember and have never ventured away from that despite cutting a few extension cords by accident! This trimmer is perfect! It is lightweight, powerful and long lasting. I now actually look forward to cleaning my yard up!

My only concern with this product was that everything came packaged somewhat loose in the primary box. The battery and charger were in their own smaller boxes as expected, but everything just sort of bounced around inside the larger box. Nothing to hold the pieces in place for shipment. But on the other hand, it reduced the amount of waste, with no big styrofoam blocks, etc. so maybe that's a good thing. Otherwise, the battery came fully charged (has a nice battery level indicator button and LEDs) and snapped right into place for immediate use. The trimmer isn't as heavy duty as some larger more expensive units would be, but I don't think that's the aim here. This trimmer is light and easy to maneuver - I can use is for extended periods without fatigue which I appreciate. The battery charges by plugging a cord directly into the battery - again didn't feel as heavy duty that way but then the more I thought about it the more I appreciate NOT having any more charging docks to keep track of! This is easy - pop off the battery, plug cord right into it to charge. Unit has good power and the battery life seems more than ample. I trimmed quite a bit and never ran out or needed to charge.
