I upgraded from F886, ZX700 sound great on both 3.5mm and 4.4mm headphone jack with my Shure se846.
It would be great if the combability can improve with iPhone. Although, ZX700 is android based, can easily install streaming apps, I would appreciate if it can serve as DAC for iphone. I have tried the DAC mode with my iPad Pro with USB-C port, it work fine. Unfortunately, when I plug-in the lightning otg cable with my iPhone 13 Pro Max / iPhone 11 Pro Max, my iPhone showed that ZX700 uses too much power. I have look for any setting to solve this, seems no options for ZX700 not charging from the iPhone connected.
I have asked the professional portable audio gear stores, some other clients have the same problem and cannot resolve. This combability issue is not purely Sony's problem, but I hope option for "not charging from connected device" would available when connected to iPhone as well, or some other ways to solve this problem in coming update.

I am again grateful to Sony for releasing this product. It's an enjoyable experience. I had the NW ZX-507 previously but the larger screen & updated form factor of the NW-ZX707 make it feel like more than just an upgrade to that player but in a different class.
Sound
I do not use IEMs, I use headphones. I tried this with the Sony MDR-H600A (Wired to 4.4MM Balanced - Sounds great), the Sony MDR-Z7M2 (Wired to 4.4MM Balanced, these are 70MM - required about 90 on the volume but it works with this device). Master & Dynamic MW65's on Bluetooth. With all of those, this device sounds excellent. Tried a few genres, Jazz, vocal & EDM genres. I would like to see in a software update a few DSPs (or at least presets for the equalizer)
Battery Life
I can't imagine getting the full 20 hours, but in the 12 days since I've had this I haven't run out of battery during the day. What I have seen is that using the 3rd party music app (i.e. Youtube Music / Spotify) will use more battery than the stock music app. There is a setting to restrict background operations because if you install 3rd party apps then those could consume battery.
Screen
I like the screen when playing Youtube music, it looks good. You can't compare it to a phone because it has it's own look.
Size
It's a bigger/heavier device than a smartphone. Feels solid.
Conclusion
This is for someone who wants a dedicated music device & has a collection of HiRes music or uses a HiRes streaming service such as Qobuz. I personally have owned devices from other manufactures & would recommend Sony because it just works better. An example would be how a competitor's device's WiFI was slow because it did not work with 5G or how their bluetooth didn't have enough distance. These are things that just work correctly on the Sony players.

Great Sony signature sound. Sounds better than the ZX507 I was using previously, and battery lasts much longer. Even with the volume cap, it generally works very well with IER-M9 on balanced output. However, I use it on my daily commute, and on these commutes I need to turn the volume up to 100 because of traffic noise. Every now and then, the music will stop because it is time to sound the alarm about loud music. This is extremely annoying.
