    Minimote just works

Pros: Easy to program on my VeraPlus Reliable and just work every time Small but control up to 8 scenes Cons: None Other thoughts: Bought 2 of these several months ago and they worked so well I got 2 more. It has 4 buttons, each of which can activate one scene with a short pess of the button, and another if you hold the button down for a second or so. I mostly use it to control lights, either singly or in a group. A short click press to turn on and a long press to turn off.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Pros: Easy to set-up Light Weight Multiple functions Back lit buttons Worked with Smarthings Cons: None as of yet Other thoughts: You typically have to access your home automation through your phone or tablet but with this device you can use easily pick up the remote to perform the desired function. For example I use it for my Smartthings outlet which has my lamp plugged into it so when I press the button it turns on my lamp. The old way involved me getting up and pressing the button on the remote or using my phone.

Pros: - small - led light helps Cons: - can block another plug on the wall socket - a little bit expensive depending on application Other thoughts: Well worth it if you need a powerful scheduling regimen from a smart hub. It's relatively trouble free.

    Comments about Aeotec Z-Wave Multi-Sensor 6 - ZW100A

Pros: Works with the Samsung SmartThings system. Only device I could find to monitor humidity. Battery or USB power With SmartThings or similar, sends alerts to smart phone and allows real time status view Status shows remaining battery life Cons: None so far Other thoughts: After five weeks, my four sensors are still working well with the Samsung SmartThings system. The Aeotec Multi-Sensor 6 monitors six different conditions and it is the only device I could find to monitor humidity. I bought four sensors to monitor humidity in various parts of my house after a mildew infestation. Battery or USB power allows me to move them around and place them in difficult locations without wires. They were easy to setup and pair with my SmartThings hub. Realize that everything is done thru the internet gateway device and its software. I have a good experience with Samsung SmartThings but other systems are available. If you have problems it is likely here, not with the Aeotec Multi-Sensor 6. Also, sensor to hub distance and shielding might limit your application. I have no problems with distances of 60ft thru several steel stud walls.

    Great Z-Wave Garage Opener

Comments about Z-Wave Smart Energy Switch Minimote DSA03202-V1

Pros: Having integrated my garage door lifters on my Z-Wave network, wanted to try one of these as a garage door remote after one of our standard ones started failing, and also because the materials/shape of my garage made the effective range of the standard opener pretty small- the car had to be literally no more than 5' away and even then I had to point the remote just right, so this became an ongoing frustration for me and my family as our driveway is at a pretty sharp incline. This thing works great! It's no bigger but much lighter than a standard opener, and at our particular location has a range of about 2.5 houses away. Only downside is that have to use 2 separate actions for opening and closing (tap vs. hold), but that is a limitation of the Z-Wave lifter, and actually I've begun to enjoy this difference as it prevents accidental closings. So anyway, very happy with this! Cons: Battery not replaceable. Other thoughts:

Pros: ... when SmartThings decides to work. Power monitoring is a nice added bonus to on/off automation features. Physically, the device is deceptively small. No hums. Cons: The pigtail cords are very stiff and thick. I'm worried about strain relief in the long term. It would be nice if the male plug could articulate instead of just being stuck at a static angle. Other thoughts:

Comments about Smart Energy Switch - DSC06106

Pros: Device is easy to pair with SmartThings, and provides a wealth of information. I had no idea my spare refrigerator used 148W, and constantly runs throughout the day!!! I bought 2, and discovered that a chest freezer is 4.14x more efficient than that old refrigerator! Cons: Now that I know how much electricity my basement refrigerator uses, I have to make a decision if the savings is worth the $174.37 cost of the electricity. Other thoughts: Oh yeah, I can turn it off and on too! Also, it remains in the state prior to power removal... So if it's on, it will stay on when the power returns. (Very important if you're monitoring a refrigerator or freezer!)

Will this extender handle secure z wave transmissions such as to kwikset locks?

    Asked by John B
Open Reply - In-House ExpertYes, they will as long as you can enroll it in your Z Wave control unit. Don''t forget to rediscover the Z Wave network after installation. Your network and the location of your devices may be such that a light bulb will flawlessly repeat your signal (not extend) and that''s more value for your money. Thanks for your inquiry and have a wonderful day!Was this answer helpful to you

Can this be used with the Amazon Echo without hub?

    Asked by Ken
Open Reply - In-House ExpertThis will require a hub. to date amazon echo does not support z wave, so it would require a hub such as smart things 2.0 from Samsung. That would allow amazon echo to control it via voice. Thanks for your inquiry and have a wonderful day!Was this answer helpful to you
