Bose QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) - Dewdrop Mint
Product Description:
The Bose QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) in Dewdrop Mint are the 2026 evolution of Bose's iconic over-ear noise-cancelling headphones, combining a refreshed modern design with upgraded QuietControl active noise cancellation, Bose TrueSpatial immersive audio, lossless USB-C listening, Bluetooth 5.4 multipoint, improved call quality, and up to 24 hours of battery life. Bose announced this second-generation model in August 2026 with a $359 MSRP, positioning it as the company's mainstream premium QuietComfort option beneath the QC Ultra line. Dewdrop Mint is one of three limited-edition launch colors and combines a pale mint exterior with contrasting teal accents inside the earcups.
The biggest acoustic addition is Bose TrueSpatial Technology, bringing Bose Immersive Audio to the standard QuietComfort line. Rather than presenting music strictly between the listener's ears, TrueSpatial processing virtualizes the stereo presentation so it feels broader and more externalized. Three immersive listening options are available: Still Mode, which anchors the virtual soundstage in place as your head moves; Motion Mode, which allows the soundstage to follow your movement; and Cinema Mode, which expands video and podcast audio while keeping dialogue centered and intelligible.
Noise cancellation has also been updated. Bose now calls the system QuietControl, backed by a six-microphone array and improved adaptive feedforward processing. The system is designed to compensate more effectively when the earcup seal is imperfect — for example, when the listener is wearing glasses, a hat, or has hair between the cushion and skin. Quiet Mode provides strong full noise cancellation, while Aware Mode lets environmental sound through. Updated ActiveSense Technology automatically smooths sudden loud noises in Aware Mode rather than allowing abrupt sounds such as trains or sirens to overwhelm whatever you're listening to. ANC can also be manually adjusted or switched completely off through the Bose app.
The 2nd Gen QuietComfort also introduces wired lossless digital audio through USB-C. Connect the headphones directly to a compatible USB-C source and they support lossless input at up to 24-bit/48 kHz. The USB-C connection is two-way, meaning it can handle high-quality playback as well as microphone audio for calls and videoconferencing. Bose also allows the headphones to charge while being used, so a depleted battery does not automatically mean the listening session has to stop.
For analog sources, including many airline entertainment systems, Bose supports a 3.5mm-to-USB-C connection. This provides wired compatibility even though the redesigned headphones no longer rely on a conventional analog headphone jack on the earcup in the same way older QuietComfort models did. Bose's official product information also lists a USB-C-to-USB-C cable with the package.
Wireless connectivity moves to Bluetooth Core 5.4, with Bluetooth multipoint allowing simultaneous connection to two source devices. A user can remain connected to a laptop and phone at the same time, for example, and transition between music, calls, and other content without repeatedly repairing the headphones. Android users also receive Google Fast Pair support for streamlined initial setup. Bose specifies a wireless range of approximately 30 feet.
Battery life reaches up to 24 hours of listening with noise cancellation enabled, or approximately 18 hours when Bose Immersive Audio is active. A full recharge takes up to three hours, while a 15-minute quick charge provides up to 2.5 hours of playback. The ability to listen while charging provides an additional advantage for desk use, gaming, movies, or long travel sessions where access to USB power is available.
The physical design has been substantially refreshed without abandoning the comfort-focused QuietComfort formula. New pill-shaped earcups create a smoother profile, while the redesigned headband is wider and uses additional soft synthetic-leather cushioning. Bose says clamping force has been optimized to provide a secure fit while maintaining the lightweight feel expected from the QuietComfort family. The complete headphone system weighs approximately 0.507 lb (230 g), keeping it considerably lighter than many premium over-ear competitors.
Physical buttons remain central to the interface. Controls on the right earcup handle play/pause, volume, calls, and other common functions, while a dedicated button on the left earcup cycles listening modes and can activate shortcuts such as a device's voice assistant or Spotify Tap. The Bose app adds three-band EQ adjustment, custom listening modes, ANC configuration, shortcut customization, Bluetooth device management, and firmware updates.
